Per front page of Drudge
**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET** The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.
That doesn't make any sense at all. Perhaps you need to catch another tv program or something.
Zavien, none of what you said has anything to do with this case. Are you a Dr.?
Doesn't matter, my point was that T.V. can put any slant on it they want.
I for one, cannot wait until Michael goes to the US Senate to testify.
Frist does not seem to know much about this case. He claimed that Terri had not had a brain scan, even though Terri has had more brain scans than any other Floridian.
I personally hope they let this poor woman die.
If you love your neigbhor as yourself, you obviously don't think much of yourself.
Why is it that all you,who believe in this culture of death...are still alive?
Ditto. Didn't see where someone called her a troll--whoever it was, they are wrong.
I keep hearing the media and others calling Terry the "severely brain damaged" woman, the woman in constant vegatative state"! Instead of the media, etc. referring to Terry as "severely brain damaged", they ought to say "Terry Schiavo, the severely untreated woman".
In addition, the courts in Florida have usurped the will of the people by overturning what the legislature and the Governor have decided (i.e. the will of the people through the elected officials).
The Congress is within its Constitutional boundaries to intervene here.
Every one of your statements are WRONG! Thats quite a score: zero correct. Might be better off going back to quiing up CDs. Just a thought :-)
God Bless Terri Schiavo and her Family and Save Her from the awful, evil HINO who is trying to Torture and Murder Her, AMEN...........
"I'm so sick of those on this thread who are holier than thou, smarter than everyone else because they have "facts". Even facts are in dispute right now. There is nothing wrong with Congress getting involved and having this case reviewed by someone OTHER than Greer. "
I agree. There have been times when I've wondered, "so many judges have signed off on this, there must be a reason." But my sense tells me now that the reason has to do more with "spousal rights" than with the value of human life. Given that Terry's "husband" has "moved on with his life," I'd say that he has thrown away whatever rights he had and that these should now revert to her mom and dad.
And, damn it, if, after all is said and done, they're so bound and determined to kill this woman, then they ought to have the courage to do it with a syringe, not by starvation.
Not to split hairs, but are you a Doc?
Seems to me it wasn't an accredited expert in the field who helped unravel Dan Rather.
Yes, getting government involved here is setting a very dangerous precedent. Now I'll be glad to engage in a debate on the issues and morality of this situation. But I'm not interested in engaging in emotional arguments, e.g., Michael's killing her for her money, etc.
No, because the facts are in dispute right now. Just because you think you have read everything, you haven't seen her either.
"I'm saying this is none of the federal government's business."
That's a good question. Does a state's rights outweigh the right to live? It's not an argument about the 'quality of life' even if that quality is considered to be '0'.
Under what part of the Constitution?
Yea, that's me...the ole' death troll....I'm having my scythe shined now as we speak.
So to prevent murder we simply go out and kill people? The purpose of law enforcement is to kill the bad guy? This is quite a stretch.
"She swallows her own saliva ...."
Which means that her brain stem is operating - it takes no conscious thought.
