**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET** The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.
What about the celebratory steak dinner?
I was being ironic in my earlier post; I believe holding a pillow over a baby's face would be "making" it die.
"...she just has to show up and let the world see that she is very much alive..."
I'm rooting against her husband, but not sure people will be impressed. It might take a miracle. But goodness, what's wrong with congress having a chance to see her, for better or worse?
At least she gets to get out of that hospice. Imagine looking at the same 4 walls for years on end?
You're agreeing with someone who is confused with breathing tubes being the same as a feeding tube?
I would personally like to know why you called this a 'circus' and which side you believe (I surmise) to be taking this to extremes?
Nobody is stopping her from dying, if they starve her for a week they will kill her.
Wise Words. We should all heed them and take precautions.
Terri is not brain dead.
It's obvious to anyone who isn't brain dead.
What about the doctors... Shouldn't they be the definitive answer in all of this... If she is in a vegatative state and her brain wave is flatline then she is not Mentally trapped in her body fully aware of everything abut her. I refuse to join everyone with joy until those questions are answered.
Her husband will not allow the medical tests to be done. Many of us would like to see those tests administered before declaring her "brain dead."
BEcause doctors are not always right. Sheesh. Smiling and talking and crying and michaels doctors saying "oh just a reflex". Same doctors who said it was ok to smack newborns on the backside to start them breathing because they couldn't feel pain. Doctors don't know sh*t. People shouldn't put them on pedestals.
How utterly ridiculous. I give you an entire page filled with FACTS, parts of actual court documents. An established timeline. And you send me a document, from a Christian publication accusing Michael Schiavo of attempted murder 15 years ago. Do you understand why people think your side is so nutty?
When you grow up and have children (IF you grow up, I should say)......you come back and tell me that it's just fine to kill one of them.
Don't be too emotional about it, though......some little jerk from DU might think you're being 'intolerant.'
btw, GOD has the 'last word' on this. Sorry about your steak dinner, Noah. And say hi to your friends on the dark side for us, OK?
"She's suffering year-after-year." Minutes later, "She won't feel a thing when they starve her."
I had an uncle who was in a coma for a number of weeks. When he awoke, he had difficulty swallowing, so they attached a feeding tube. He lived an otherwise productive life for a few years before he died as a result of a fall. No one even considered killing him when he was in a coma, or of removing his feeding tube when he came out of it.
However, if they allow Terri to die without at least running the proper tests, anyone who is incapacitated in any way is in danger of being killed off, either for money, or simply because they've become inconvenient.
Exactly. Does a tomato smile at her mother? The other side is hell-bent on dehumanizing Terri so they can justify in their own minds her murder.
The other side also HATES anyone who loves life and who believes in God Almighty.
Isn't it interesting?
