What about the doctors... Shouldn't they be the definitive answer in all of this... If she is in a vegatative state and her brain wave is flatline then she is not Mentally trapped in her body fully aware of everything abut her. I refuse to join everyone with joy until those questions are answered.

Her husband will not allow the medical tests to be done. Many of us would like to see those tests administered before declaring her "brain dead."

BEcause doctors are not always right. Sheesh. Smiling and talking and crying and michaels doctors saying "oh just a reflex". Same doctors who said it was ok to smack newborns on the backside to start them breathing because they couldn't feel pain. Doctors don't know sh*t. People shouldn't put them on pedestals.

This is not a factual statement.

Terri Schiavo has had more brain scans than any other Floridian. She has been examined by the best neurological experts in the world.

The only neurologist to testify that Terri is not in Persistent Vegetative State was the controversial neurologist hired by the Schindlers after the appellate court ordered a new trial on this case.

The Schindlers were asked to provide two neurologists or neurosurgeons, but they presented only one to the court. Their neurologist is published in peer-reviewed National Enquirer, and faced disciplinary proceedings in both Florida and California.

At any rate, as the Florida Second District of Appeals stated in June 2003:

Although the physicians are not in complete agreement concerning the extent of Mrs. Schiavo's brain damage, they all agree that the brain scans show extensive permanent damage to her brain. The only debate between the doctors is whether she has a small amount of isolated living tissue in her cerebral cortex or whether she has no living tissue in her cerebral cortex.
All the other neurologists testified that Terri was in Persistent Vegetative State. Michael Schiavo provided two board-certified neurologists, and the trial court appointed Dr. Peter Bambakidis, a board-certified neurologist practicing in the Department of Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a clinical professor of neurology at Case Western Reserve University.

Therefore, the consensus among the neurological experts is that Terri is PVS.

Oh come on! Documents related to this case have been easily available online for at least a year and a half. Surely that's enough time to at least glance at them. There's no excuse for making such a ridiculous statement.
