A relative of mine fell while rock climbing, went into a coma for 6 weeks, and woke up a different person.

Does anyone remember the Charles Stuart story? He shot his pregnant wife in the car, tried to pin it on a carjacking, and just to seal the deal he shot himself in the stomach, making it look like he was attacked too. He even visited the baby, born after the murder, in the hospital. The baby died shortly after. Charles Stuart also had a girlfriend in the wings. His mistake was that his self inflicted injury went a little too far, making him unable to carry on with the girlfriend. Eventually he jumped off a bridge, but even then, people didn't realize that it was he who had killed his wife and baby. MS is Charles Stuart without the self-inflicted injury.

There are thousands of folks in this country who cannot feed themselves....hospitals, nursing homes and residence facilities for the seriously disabled, are full of them.
If Terri is legally starved to death, they're next.

One thing not being factored in is Dr. God. Wouldn't it simply be amazing if suddenly, Terri regained full brain activity? Maybe that sounds ignorant, but unexplainable things happen to patients all the time. I'm not predicting a recovery. That's up to God.
Regardless, a clear cut signed piece of paper is a much more clear guideline than the word of a discredited spouse.

and animals from starvation. Terri deserves no less than
they do, imho.
What about having Terri moved to a highly skilled hospital that has trained specialists in this area and have her put on a 90 day intensive care schedule that would once and for all tell the doctors and skilled people whether there was a chance she could make a recovery? Until that happens, there should be no question of her incapacitation or not...I've read nothing anywhere that says there has been a concerted effort to improve her condition or atleast give advanced tests to prove one way or another what exactly IS her condition! It's like tripping over the boulder in the road - address the problem first!
