**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET** The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.
We wouldn't want her to be in contempt of congress, would we ?
Maybe it's just the euphoria of the moment, but it certainly looks like a master stroke from Enzi or whoever came up with this. Enzi for President.
Only if she had a gay lover would the courts intervene to protect her from her abusive husband.

Well - it does prove we have some really fine people in Washington and Florida who are working as hard as they can to prevent us becoming a nation of death to the weak, or of setting a precedence of murder with state approval as long as you just state that you remember old Joe said he would not want to live in such a state.
So - it means that any husband or wife could create a situation causing a sudden coma and then murder the spouse with the courts help. It means that hearsay would be allowed without proof as justification of a person claiming death for you.
What about the constitutional rights of those incapacitated to be allowed life, liberty and the pursuit of happinesss? Do they no longer have rights as an American once they are too costly, too sick, too deformed (as judged by the elitist among us willing to commit free murder)?
No one can believe that there are not strong forces wanting this decision to stand and we must ask WHY? And we must fight for equal rights for all Americans - not just the healthy, the wealthy but those that are alive.
If we don't - we are no better than a dictatorship because we will have given some the power of death over others.

referred to Terri as brain-dead in the story she read.

Wow! Someone lives in DC with brains and he's on our side!
Well heck, let's just say she does have a gay lover. There's precisely the same evidence for that as there is for her husband's assertion that she wants to be murdered.

If this is true---I hope she sings like a canary! Any consciousness she manifests, any open eyes, any response to anything seen or heard, will be testimony contrary to the claims of Michael Schiavo, attorney Felos and Judge Greer. Testimony loud and clear.

Has Drudge even reported on this case once before now? I don't check in with him everyday but I've never seen a story about her before.
