**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET** The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.

"As far as I know, neither one of them said they wanted to be allowed to die if they became vegetables."

There's nothing but hearsay about what Terri wanted.

"It isn't about ME, and my agenda for the world."

Every one of your posts has been about you.

Her husband's statement IS evidence. The judge found it credible.

We can't be making special laws or having congress intervene every time we disagree with a judge's ruling.

He's been limiting them for years...don't be a jerk about this! The Schindlers didn't even suspect that of him until they saw the bone scan in 2001.

"If her husband was so evil, and so obviously acting against her best interests, if he was taking actions in a suspicious manner to prevent doctors and judges to properly evaluate her condition, then it should be a slam-dunk to have his custody rights rescinded. This sort of thing is done all the time in custody battles."

Because this isn't about custody, it's about abortion and anything that threatens the "right" to kill inconvenient people.

Terri could have been retaught years ago to swallow, but Micahael would not allow therapy. Now that he has made her dependent on the feeding tube, which is hooked up to sustenance three time per day, you would want to remove it to see if she can survive without it? If food were removed from anyone of us, who among us would be able to pass that test and survive?

Terri was earmarked by the Euthanasia crowd as a PAWN in this scenario. Terri's case would establish precedent that would further their agenda.

Yeah, but will he try to make it anyway? Or will he just keep his mouth shut?

I know what you mean. People who should know better, after so much information has been available on FR.

Also, Schiavo "remembered" that she didn't want to be kept alive AFTER he got the cool million for her care.

Did you read my post 193 to you about some OTHER agendas? There is a bigger picture, Terri, bless her heart, is one tree in a very important forest here. Read my post 193, please.

Incorrect again, my good man! Judge Greer won't allow the guardianship hearing to move forward. It was filed in Nov. 2002.

Worse than that, it was 7 years. At least that is what her brother said today on the Sean Hannity Show.

Are you suggesting that Man can foil the plans of GOD?

GREAT one!

Seems like God may just be putting us finite folk to a test - see if we will come to the aid of his daughter, Terri, and to those in the future in her situation -

How, on His green earth, can anyone think God's will would include deliberately starving one of His children to death?

I have the feeling that we are being called to protect His children, both in Terri's case and in the abortion issue. If we do not fight for life - this country will reap the whirlwind

and another bit of news that may have gotten lost---

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2005-03-18-congress-schiavo_x.htm
[snip]
Earlier, David Gibbs, attorney for Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, had said: "Everything is a long shot."

Gibbs said that he would ask a federal judge in a habeas corpus filing Friday in Tampa to block the removal and review the actions of state courts. Such appeals are most commonly used in death penalty cases when legal appeals have been exhausted; they require the government to justify its actions.

"We are going to ask him to issue a stay because in this case, state action would be used to end the life of an innocent, disabled woman," Gibbs said.

You make a good point. Pretty much every jurisdiction has a Statute of Frauds requiring, e.g., real estate transfers to be in writing, but if you want to kill your wife, all you have to do is tell the court...well, we were watching TV one day, and she said she wanted to die. That's all it takes, in Florida at least.

You didn't answer the question.

If her husband is evil, why haven't her parents demonstrated this in numerous opportunities to do so? Are you saying claimed obstruction/destruction of evidence (her husband keeping her from being evaluated) was just overlooked by the courts?

Apparently, the only truth about the case resides here on FR threads - everyone actually involved in the case, which we aren't, is evil or just plain wrong. Except the ones who can't seem to prove their case and win. They're right, so the whole mess needs to be AlGored in the courts/legislatures forever.
