Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...

darkmatter: Would you vote for a pro-gay, anti-military, anti-american candidate that happened to be pro-life?

howlin: That is exactly who the DNC will be running in 2008: Hillary Clinton

Im not sure if you were being sarcastic or not but: My point exactly! I am pro-life, and I am not thrilled that Condi is not (in fact I am disappointed). That doesnt mean that I am willing to set in motion a chain of events that would put Hillary Clinton in charge of prosecuting the war on terror. Sorry guys nothing personal. While I do care about the lives of the unborn very deeply, I also care about the lives of the 300 million Americans whose safety will be placed in the hands of the MoveOn.org crowd.

Listening to people like you has moved me to the left.

You are where you belong. Don't blame it on me.

Gosh, I never knew there were so many evil, fascist, murderers in the country.

How many abortions in this country in the last ten years? Now add the number of people who approve of them but have never had one. The total will tell you how many evil people there are. It's simple math, go look up the numbers on the net.

You asked if I had anything to back it up, I said yes, but no, I don't have a "quote" - I just know. She isn't personally a 3-rule anti-abortion person.

Your posts are correct though - politically, she wants it to go back to the states.

I don't blame you for wanting proof. I would too. I'm only telling you what I know. I'd rather you not believe me than go into how I know. I don't do this often, and I shouldn't have this time. Sorry.

In his defense, it was pretty shocking tactics that made this fence sitter fall onto the right side.

I am not opposed to distributing the truth about abortion to the community at large. The bumper stickers on our cars will testify to that. I am opposed to fulfilling the stereotype that the pro abortionists have constructed for us. It does us no good but more to the point it does unborn children no good.

Oh, I'm not blaming you hon. I'm thanking you. Never before did I fully realize just how looney people who are absolutists really are. Now that I know, I'll do everything to distance myself from you and your kind. Before that, I listened and believed. But the more I visit these threads, the more I've changed my mind about the entire situation.

I am pro-life and pro-choice. Abortion should be legal, but NEVER occur.

Yeah, that works. What utter nonsense...

On a theological note (for all of you lurkers from the religion forum), reminds me of a Southern Baptist Bible College professor who told his class, "I am 100% Calvinist and 100% Arminian." One of the students replied, "Sounds like you're 100% job security."

Exactly so, darkmatter.

The life of the unborn is important, but so is the life of the living and born.

That would be TLBSHOW. He gets wet when he posts about Ann Coulter, and is obsessed with Free Republic.

LP has a "bozo filter," which means posts from "bozos" you designate can be blocked out.

TLBSHOW has the highest number of "bozo blocks" of anybody on that site.

I will also bet you ten bucks that this post ends up over there.

I haven't gone there in a year, but I understand he is fixated. Sad and pathetic. Maybe someone else can give you the history; I don't know what it is that makes Todd just literally run that place and copy everything from FR to LP. Sounds kind of boring to me :-)

Hope you're enjoying FR. I see you're relatively new here. It's a great site. Well, threads like this one excepted.

Congratulations. Hopefully the world your granddaughter inherits will be better than the one we have now.

Thank you. I can tell you this, if the world can't even agree that killing these babies God has created is wrong, I'm not optimistic.

Here we are on an allegedly "conservative" website, and I'm being excoriated for being too gruff with the "conservatives" here who advocate abortion. If it's like this on this site,,what about the rest of the country? And the world? It doesn't look good.

There are groups of people I can't abide, that is people that think that others should live by their set of rules.

So you don't think we should have brought democracy (our set of rules) to the Iraqi people?

"I know this is off track but it seems like all the principled people here are not so compassionate for the lives of already born children......"

That argument, an out and out LIE, was frequently made when I was in college in the late 70's early 80's about pro-lifers. Our college pro-life group performed all kinds of good works imaginable to dispell that myth. Pro-lifers have given all kinds of help to children including adopting the sickest and most handicapped among them. Unbelievable that such a lie is still propagated.

The life of the unborn is important, but so is the life of the living and born.

They are equally important. All are human beings at a point in life's continuum. That is the truth of the matter.

I haven't seen anyone here advocate abortion. But keep telling yourself that. Maybe it will make you feel better.

No it just means you're for sex without committment and don't want to live with the natural consequences of your irresponsible behaviour.

The tarbaby has really got ahold of you now, and the quicksand beakens. In the light of the morning, you might wish you had spent this evening with your grandkid. Maybe. I would like to think so.

You see, within certain limits, maturity is about realizing that folks of good conscience can have well thought out views that might differ from you, even on abortion. It is a matter of a priori beliefs. That does not mean that you should hesitate to fight for yours in the public square vigorously, but if the fight simply poisons the public square, ala the way SCOTUS has done, we ALL tend to lose.

I know, none of this makes any sense to you probably. But I felt constrained to say it.
