This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

Read this and you will know why this judge was insane to let this defendant in that courthouse without being shackled hand and foot. If that defendant was permitted bond, then the judge was crazy to do that, too.

I swear that's what I heard - hope somebody else can verify that.

I'd say do that regardless of the deputy's gender. I don't think it should ever be one on one.
Agreed. Especially if he has a history of trying to smuggle weapons.

Brilliant media question of the day #2486:
"The suspect had changed from his jail garb into a suit for court. Did that make it more difficult to locate him?"

Ohhh..I've been to the galleria. That's where they have the BLADE show every year.
A pretty place.

Brilliant media question of the day #2486: I didn't recogize the voice on that one -- most of the reporters there I've either met or know...

What?????
Every report I have seen, from police to doctors, has the female deputy being shot in the head. The bullet didn't go into the skull though so it is not life threatening. However, she fell from the shooting she sustained injuries from the fall

More likely took the gun and pistolwhipped her, because a shot would have alerted deputies in the courtroom. My question is, did he take extra mags off her when he left? I suspect that when he shot and killed the male deputy, he ditched the first gun and took the fresh gun and mags off the body.

Reporters must not even listen to what idiotic words are coming out of their mouths.
Then they have the nerve to get annoyed when the new media takes them to task for their idiocy.

She's not a bad Mayor. In fact, I sort of like her. She was left holding the bag when Bill Campbell left town. She's done a decent job with what she has to work with.
