The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

WASHINGTON - Prompted by new intelligence indicating Osama bin Laden reached out to the most feared terrorist in Iraq, President Bush charged Thursday that "al-Qaida still hopes to attack us on our own soil."

"Recently, we learned that Osama bin Laden has urged the terrorist Zarqawi to form a group to conduct attacks outside Iraq, including here in the United States," Bush said at the swearing-in of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

The president vowed, "We're working every day and night to dismantle (bin Laden's) network and to bring him to justice."

Hmmm...Well thanks for the update.

lol Thanks, MD. As I said, I'm only here to help. But the fact is that the whole thing was dead easy. Anybody in any state can do it. Every state has a state level DHS or State Police. They all have websites and they all (or most) have e-mail contact links. Suspicious of something? It never hurts to get it checked out!

I saw a graphic last night on a web site that had a circled school icon with a line going through it and the words below the school icon stated, "My child won't be caught dead in a public school." I agree.


For those of you who are still sending your children to a public school so that they can become "educated," here are some solutions to stopping shootings at schools, or at the very least, these solutions should slow the school shootings down.


1. No Weapons Allowed at School except for School Administrators, Teachers, Hall Monitors, Yard Duty Teachers, School Security Guards, and School Police Officers.


2. No child who is on drugs (legal or illegal) which may alter his mood or behavior, will be allowed to attend a public school or any public event.


3. Any public school insisting that a child be put on mood altering/behavior altering drugs; will pay for that child to be home schooled until he is off the drugs.


4. All parents will sign a form that they are solely responsible for their own children at all times.


5. Parents will sign a form that if their child seriously injures or kills a person(s) at school, the parents' wages will be attached to pay the victims and/or victims' families. This wage attachment will be a life long attachment.


6. Any School Administrator, Teacher, Hall Monitor, Yard Duty Teacher, School Police Officer or School Security Guard will be allowed to use all means necessary to stop a school shooter.


7. Any CONVICTED school shooter who injures and/or kills a person on or around a school campus will receive the death penalty ASAP.


8. Any convicted school shooter who has officially received THE DEATH PENALTY will be put to death immediately.


9. No excuses are acceptable for school shootings.


10. Parents will be told that there are other viable alternatives to "public education" such as home schooling and private schools.

You would be surprised at the federal dollars that have flowed into the hinterlands from the Department of Homeland Security. The problem is developing competent command and control procedures to handle these potential situations along with the training for first responders and hospitals.

One mock drill a year for local fire,police,EMS, and medical facilites does not make for great preparedness.

As to handling mass casualties from urban areas, I believe DHS is involved in planning in Fredrick,MD-Gettysburg areas -- Rex84 ? Probable results would be too little, too late.

VERY GENERALLY SPEAKING - OPINION: No, it's not important. I've only heard back once and that was before my morning coffee. Most of the time, the only feedback I hear/read/see is via the news or via posts on various web sites.
