New Poll Finds Bush Priorities Are Out of Step With Americans
The New York Times ^ | Adam Nagourney

Posted on 03/04/2005 5:25:08 AM PST by BigKPM

The poll underscores just how little headway Mr. Bush has made in his effort to build popular support as his proposal for overhauling Social Security struggles to gain footing in Congress. At the same time, there has been an increase in respondents who say that efforts to restore order in Iraq are going well, even as an overwhelming number of Americans say Mr. Bush has no clear plan for getting out of Iraq.

the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

CBS has a memo that proves that this poll is accurate.

I would love to know who did the poll. The NY Times has been guilty in the past of using Push Polling to get the results they want to flash as a headline.

Leave it to NYT to ignore differences between age brackets when polling on social security issues.

Any genius could figure that out by looking at the election results...the ones that think this, didn't vote for him...

The NYT should probably take note of the one poll that counts - the one last November, in which Bush got more votes than any president in history.

It's kind of annoying to observe the media's more or less constant attempt to manipulate both government policy and public opinion with obviously selective polls.

Judging by the content of the paper, The NYT apparently assumes that the inhabitants of the city that bills itself as the "Center of the Universe" are not very bright.

In further news it's 1938 and President Roosevelt's belief that Japan and Germany are a serious threat to the US are damaging him in the polls. He's out of step with mainstream America on this issue.

SS is gonna collapse whether mainstream America wants to hear that or not.

Not out of step with me. I called C-Span about 5 years ago, during Bush's 2000 campaign, to ask why we weren't hearing more from the press about Bush's plans to reform Social Security.

I used to have it delivered every day. Now I buy a copy at the grocery store about once every two or three weeks.

The New York Times is one big piece of Democratic campaign literature [liberaliture?]. Why should I contribute my money to Democratic campaigners?

Don't be silly.
They took it at the front door of the Dem HQ building in Manhattan :-)

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Once again, the NYT demonstrates the left liberal fallacy of "if I FEEL something is/should be true, it IS true."

Meanwhile, back on the planet Earth, the world is finally getting it, notwithstanding the latest fake-but-accurate Jayson Blair/Dan Rather poll.

How biased/invalid is the current NYT/cBS poll?

1.) This poll posits a job approval rating for the President 3 points below other polls taken during and after the NYT polling period -- and these other polls also oversample Democrats/leftists.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/Presidential_04/bush_ja.html

[Special Note: The NYT job approval ratings for the President are actually UP from last month (+5 vs +3) and the FoxNews approval ratings tie those posted in November and exceed ALL other ratings since last January (04) . . . Yep, the President is fading fast <sarcasm off!]

2.) This poll uses push polling techniques that BEG the response sought by NYT. Read Patrick Ruffini's insightful comments about the politics of SS polling at "Personal Accounts: Victory is in Reach"
http://www.patrickruffini.com/ (scroll halfway down the page)

I could go on and on and on, but work beckons!

Yes, the breakdown of the poll was 37% democrats and 29% Republicans. No bias here, move along...

De polls boss! De polls!!!!!!!

According to the polls, we should now be discussing the priorities of President.....(choke!)....(puke!).....(shudder!) Kerry.

Polls have no credibility-no credibility at all.
