TERRI SCHIAVO MARCH 2005 DAILIES Fla's Til of the Hun Sets March Date to Starve Terri

Terri's Freepers,

Judge George Greer denied Terri's parents' Motion for a Stay to protect their daughter's life while there are still pending issues in this LIFE AND DEATH MATTER. In addition the Department of Children and Family Services made a surprise visit to the court hearing the other day and asked Judge Greer if they could approach the bench. Judge Greer denied DCF the opportunity to speak. DCF asked for 60 days to conduct a complete investigation of allegations that have surfaced in the form of a Complaint to their agency.

What was set in motion instead? On Friday, February 25th, Judge Greer REFUSED TO issue another Stay because he was "not comfortable" issuing a say to protect a Ward of the State but instead "set a date certain" (on his calendar at least, not on mine) to BEGIN THE BARBARIC, ANTI-AMERICAN, STARVATION-DEHYDRATION SLOW MURDER OF TERRI.

Attorney Gibbs for Terri's parents held a press conference after J. Greer's order that was so tastefully written to indicate that "he was giving the Schindlers until March 18th so they could "prepare for Last Rites." Attorneys Gibbs called this ruling and prior rulings "Hitler-resque". Indeed.

If Judge Greer wasn't LEGALIZING EUTHANASIA in his courtroom, why any need for Last Rites? Greer's urgency to fulfill this killing places urgency on every one of us to lobby Governor Bush, Florida's House and Florida's Senate.

A Judge in America is ordering the manner of someone's death, a disabled woman who is healthy but needs rehabilitation.

Time is short so we don't really have time to get into Greer's mind to see why he is Florida's Til of the Hun.

What can we do?

1. LOBBY TO SAVE TERRI

9. PETITIONS. We will gather current Petitions here for you. At this time, you can sign a SAVE TERRI PETITION AT www.renewamerica.us. THERE ARE ALSO IMPEACH GREER PETITIONS ABOUT.

Finally, the Pope has no Living Will. He will be SAFE as long as he stays away from George Greer's courtroom. The Pope is in our thoughts and prayers and he knows of Terri. He wants Terri to be freed from oppression and from a painless death by starvation-dehyration.

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO EVERY DAY, THE PAY ISN'T VERY GOOD BUT THE FRINGE BENEFITS ARE THE GREATEST. You are Great Americans and liberty is Terri's and freedom from oppression. Freepers, that is the big payoff if we continue our daunting task.

I wonder what he thinks he has to feel self important about. Jesus is ALL...isn't the Bishop just supposed to be a servant serving Christ? I never get these guys who think they're hot stuff in some kind of hierarchy...Christ is all.

Oh yes, he knows people love Terri deeply and are supporting the family with prayers. I asked him what kind of feeling he brought back from D.C. after lobbying in Congress and he said he felt good about with with the exception of Barbara Boxer who told him, "We DON'T play God." To which Bobby replied, "Precisely, ma'am...that's why I'm here talking to you. We don't play God, but they're playing God with Terri's life."

Something horrible creeps into some of those who attain certain high status, no matter the place.

Our President has managed to avoid this arrogance and detachment because, imo, his faith is as deep as his Love for God. And he does not hesitate to say so, publically.

I agree with you. I don't know whether the procedures will allow the church to just annul someone's marriage without that person being able to request it. Someone on another thread said you had to be legally divorced first. I should research it.

Fla. lawmakers weigh feeding tube bill

SAMANTHA GROSS

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Lawmakers proposed a measure Monday aimed at preventing Friday's scheduled removal of a feeding tube that is keeping brained-damaged Terri Schiavo alive.

The legislation, which could come up for final votes in the Florida House and Senate as early as Thursday, would block doctors from denying food or water to someone in a persistent vegetative state with the intention of causing death.

Schiavo, 41, has been at the center of a bitter court battle between her parents and her husband, who wants to remove her feeding tube so she can die. A judge has cleared the way for the tube to be removed Friday.

The measure would make exceptions for living wills and some other advance directives.

Civil liberties advocates said they still objected.

"They're proposing to violate the rights of a smaller category of people - I don't think we should be exultant over that," said Howard Simon, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida.

Court-appointed doctors say Schiavo cannot regain consciousness. Bob and Mary Schindler, who believe their daughter is aware and can recover, have fought her husband in court for nearly seven years. Michael Schiavo contends his wife would not want to be kept alive artificially.

This is the second time the Legislature has considered measures aimed specifically at keeping Schiavo alive. In 2003, lawmakers passed a bill that allowed Gov. Jeb Bush to order doctors to restore Schiavo's feeding tube. That law was thrown out by the Florida Supreme Court.

I got to do an interview with him-- After the kids get to bed- I am going to write an article on it-- got it all on tape.

He was impressed with our knowledge of the case-

In the interview- I do remember that he said he was very thankful to all the bloggers. He also said to keep driving home the point about her being in Hospice...

Their family has NO IDEA who is paying the bills- we need to investigate THAT also....

He took a LOT of time with me.. It was funny- Mary kept trying to drag him off- and he just kept talking with me.

They were thrilled about you all-- I also told him and BOb that I was there representing over 200 people who raised the funds for me to be able to come....

I am trying to go next weekend too

He is going to tell me the best place to be-- according ot how things go-- maybe better to go to St Pete- may be better to go to Tallahassee-- he said he will let me know...

yeah, he said, 'some of them just don't get it.' I get the impression he doesn't waste his time, but quickly moves onto those who WILL listen and take all the facts into consideration. You're right...wise.

Victims Rights Group Wants Gov. Bush to Stop Terri Schiavo Starvation

http://www.lifenews.com/bio778.html

by Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com Editor
March 14, 2005

Tallahassee, FL (LifeNews.com) -- A victims rights group that has come to the aid of Terri Schiavo and her parents is calling on Florida Governor Jeb Bush to issue an executive order to preventing doctors from removing the disabled woman's feeding tube on Friday.

Ted Hires, president and founder of the Justice Coalition, a Florida-based group, told a crowd of more than 300 people holding a rally over the weekend outside the Florida state legislature.

Hires says he wants Governor Bush to send the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park, where Terri lives, to prevent her starvation, scheduled for Friday.

However, the last time Governor Bush tried to intervene, a Florida Supreme Court called it an unconstitutional violation of the separation of powers.

The Justice Coalition also wants Governor Bush to appoint a special prosecutor and the FDLE to look into the cause of Terri's collapse in 1990.

A bone scan conducted on Terri a year after her collapse showed evidence of physical trauma and possible abuse -- leading some to speculate that Terri may have collapsed because she was abused by her now-estranged husband Michael.

“After a thorough review of Terri Shiavo’s case and seeking the opinion of legal counsel, I have concluded that Terri Schiavo is most certainly a victim," Hires said.

"There is a very real possibility that an act of domestic violence caused Terri's present condition. The public has a right to know the truth regarding these criminal allegations and until they are investigated, we will not know the answers," Hires added.

Former Schindler attorney, Pat Anderson, had requested an investigation two years ago, but representatives of the Florida Department of Children and Families told her that supervisors in the region looked into the case by chose not to get involved.

Hires said he didn't believe that answer.

Hires reminded the crowd of Terri supporters that Michael prohibited Terri from receiving most medical care and any rehabilitative treatment after he and Terri won a medical malpractice award.

Michael had initially promised to use the money on medical care and treatment, but has instead used it to pay legal bills to move ahead with Terri's starvation.

Hey, eeevil! You left your zucchini in my room! ;-D

I came away with a good feeling. I think the rally was productive, I think Bobby was optimistic, and I think God is truly in the midst of all of this. I was, at times, overpowered, with a feeling of the Holy Spirit being right there.

Praise God, INDEED, Wampus SC.

When I was talking to Mr. Schindler yesterday he mentioned that he sometimes wished he knew what God was doing and what his plan was. I told him God rarely telegraphs his punches, and as hard as it is He just asks us to trust. He's never too early or too late...and He's going to get the glory when all this is over.

Legislature Devises New Proposal to Intervene for Terri Schiavo

http://ap.tbo.com/ap/florida/MGBKUTZCB6E.html

By Samantha Gross Associated Press Writer
Published: Mar 14, 2005

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Lawmakers proposed a measure Monday that would block doctors from denying food or water to someone in a persistent vegetative state with the intention of causing death, setting the stage to prevent the removal of Terri Schiavo's feeding tube on Friday.
The House Judiciary Committee voted 8-3 approving the new measure, which would make exceptions for living wills and specific verbal instructions. The bills, if put on an expedited path, could come up for final votes in the House and Senate as early as Thursday.

Schiavo, 41, is severely brain damaged and has been at the center of a long and bitter court battle between her parents and her husband, who wants to remove her feeding tube so she can die. A judge has cleared the way for the procedure at 1 p.m. Friday.

Also on Monday, the Department of Children & Families appealed a judge's denial of its request for a stay on the removal of the tube for the next 60 days while it investigates allegations that Schiavo was mistreated by her husband.

Under the measure, family members would no longer be able to make decisions for patients who left no specific instructions - unless they were empowered to do so by a written directive.

An earlier version of the bill could have applied to all incapacitated people, not just those in a persistent vegetative state.

The change was intended to allay concerns that the proposed law (HB 701) could force people who thought they had denied such measures to undergo surgery to insert a feeding tube, said Rep. Dennis Baxley, R-Ocala, who sponsored the bill.

"We're not trying to do something with all terminal people," he said. "We're not trying to bother anybody who's made their own choices. We're simply trying to assert that in this society, we don't starve people to death."

But civil liberties advocates and some medical leaders still objected.

"They're proposing to violate the rights of a smaller category of people - I don't think we should be exultant over that," said Howard Simon, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida.

The Florida Bioethics Network - a group of doctors, nurses, social workers and medical college professors - said the bill would be a setback to more than a quarter-century of advances in end-of-life decision making for Floridians. Florida is considered to have some of the nation's more advanced laws giving people the power to control their lives until the end.

"This is a train wreck of a bill," said Kenneth W. Goodman, co-director of the Florida Bioethics Network and head of the University of Miami Bioethics Program. "While they are trying to stick it to Michael Schiavo ... no one asks people who are real guardians in Florida what they thought of it. This bill will derail guardianship law in Florida."

Rep. Dan Gelber, D-Miami Beach, warned that the measure could prevent parents from making decisions for their children.

"We should not craft a piece of legislation that ultimately will take the people who know best and are most full of love for the patient, and take them out of the process of making a decision," he said.

Sen. Daniel Webster, R-Winter Garden, also added an identical amendment to a companion bill (SB 804).

Gov. Jeb Bush's general counsel assisted in negotiating the language of the bill, said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. David Simmons, R-Altamonte Springs, though a Bush spokesman said it was too early to say whether he would sign it into law.

Meanwhile, Christian youth activists delivered dying roses to lawmakers along with notes reading "do not feed or water," as a reminder of the impending deadline for legislative action.

Members of the group, Bound 4 Life, said they would go on a hunger strike if Schiavo's feeding tube is removed.

Court-appointed doctors say the brain-damaged woman is in a persistent vegetative state and cannot regain consciousness.

Jeb Bush to order doctors to restore Schiavo's feeding. That law was then thrown out by the Florida Supreme Court.

The House and Senate bills were each to be considered in final committees Tuesday.

Goodman said the legislation would create barriers for people who want to control the end of their lives.

It also "misjudges" the medical use of artificial nutrition and hydration tubes, which are intended to be used as a "bridge" when someone suffers a debilitating medical problem until they can get better, he said. Goodman said those devices are not intended to be permanent.

People in a persistent vegetative state cannot feel pain, the bioethicists argue, and deaths from the removal of water and food are considered painless and humane.
