Please pray for my 17 year old daughter's safety, that the Lord is watching over her and protecting her from harm. I just filed a missing persons report with the Columbus Police Department about an hour ago, when it became apparent that I was not going to get the usual call from her letting me know where she was.
I left for work at 10:45 am and the last thing she said was that she was going to get her hair cut. No e-mail, no phone calls to me throughout the course of the day, which struck me as odd, because we hadn't had any harsh words and life seemed to be great. I got off work at 9 pm and she wasn't home, which isn't unusual because she spends alot of time with Young Life. Hours passed, no phone call. By 2 I was nearly hysterical with worry. I have left messages on her friends' cell phones hoping for a call back. I am sorry to say that I was not able to give the officer a description of what she was wearing, only a picture.
This is SO out of character for this young lady. She's always been the responsible one, even though she has been suffering from Senior-itis this year and has tested the boundaries to the limit. I am so frightened thinking of the possibilities here that I don't know where to turn, and I would appreciate your prayers tonight. I am hoping that perhaps she told me she'd be sleeping over tonight at a friend's house, but I have racked my brain, and frankly, I just don't remember any conversation like that taking place. (I haven't had a day off in 3 weeks.)
Prayers are with you and your daughter's safe return. I would repport the car as stolen.
Prayers up for her safe return.
God be with her and you.
I may have missed someone asking you this already. Does her boyfriend have an email that she might have left laying around?
Prayers that you are hugging your daughter very shortly.Thanks for the update.
Or does she use any IMs to chat with him?
Prayers on the way.
My mother always used to say: "The older you kids get, the bigger the worries." I didn't understand what she meant until I had kids of my own. My boys are now 38 and 34, but you never stop worrying about them. I'm praying for your daughter's safe return and the Lord's Blessings on you all.
I am praying too, Sunshine. My daughter just turned 18 last month, and she did this to us all the time. She doesn't anymore because we told her if she was going to stay out all night or stay away for three or four days at a time and not call, if she wanted to answer to no one but herself she had to be responsible for herself and couldn't live at home anymore. Because she did this to us for months without feeling one bit remorseful of what she was putting us through. But unlike your daughter, she has been "kicking against the goads" for years I guess you could say, we just stopped standing in her way when she turned 18.
One thing I have learned, God is faithful. He is trustworthy, and able to deliver.
"Ye that fear the Lord, praise Him;
all ye the seed of Jacob glorify Him;
and fear Him all ye the seed of Israel.
For He hath not despised nor abhorred
the affliction of the afflicted;
Neither hath He hid His face from him;
but when he cried unto Him, He heard."
Psalm 22:23-24
Dear Heavenly Father...in Jesus name I ask that you place your angels around Sunshine's daughter and protect her, I ask that the Holy Spirit reveal to Sunshine where her daughter is and reunite them now. Dear Lord bring peace and joy to this situation.
Thank you Father...we trust in You.
In Jesus name..
Amen
