"He is generous in the extreme, he commits an enormous amount of time and money to support our armed forces (where too many others just give lip service),..."

For that and his unrelenting support for the Swifties, he gets a life-time free pass from me.

(begin suck-up mode) BTW, I believe YOU to be the most articulate, intelligent, and devastatingly effective political pundit out there. Although you could look into the camera more, you're probably looking down to hide the smirk from beating up your opponents so well. What station is your show on in the Los Angeles/Orange County area?

Not to diminish the effort, how many conservatives backed away from the Swifties? I can't think of any. Many just didn't have the soapbox Sean has.

"Many just didn't have the soapbox Sean has."

And he used it repeatedly for their cause. Credit due.

How many credible groups could touch so many people? Few if any. And have the long history between Kerry and the Swifty spokesman. I mean that was legendary drama. An idiot would have used the Swifties. It was a no brainer. And how many other talking head shows did they get time on, both liberal AND conservative. Tons. Sean's no hero here. He took a gift horse and ran with it.

"El Rushbo needs to make a surprise appearence at the EIB HQ in midtown Manhattan and take Sean aside and have a little chat with him."

Seems I remember Rush had a little run in with Freerepublic a few years ago. He handled it with his usual grace and aplomb, and things settled down rather quickly.

Is Sean really saying he can't get enough good material for his dialy show (lifted from FR) anymore?

If so, perhaps it's because it's "after" the election Sean and we need a rest from some of the same ol' tiresome guests on these political shows...the ex-Democrat chairman from California or Charlie Rangel, for example.

However, I'll praise Sean for his fight for President Bush and for the Swift Vets. Thanks Sean.

There needs to be a campaign finance reform, that allows money to be given from one person to a candidate, at any amount that person wants to give. No corporate money for candidates, no foundation money for candidates, only legal US citizens need send funds. If the Democrats want to throw a nominating convention, let them do so paying for all costs themselves, without a single write-off for taxes. Let the Republicans pay for each and every primary where the main purpose is to showcase their people, and have the citizens of the states pay for the publicity. I don't know how to do it, I don't think it could happen. If something isn't done in the the ten years or so, this nation will be absorbed into the world order without a peep from most of those claiming that the ownership of firearms is to prevent just that. People are just too damn comfortable, and they don't wanna miss their TV shows on Friday nights. Besides, would Rush or Sean, or even GW lead them off a cliff? Nah, evil deeds never flow from good intentions....ask Karl Marx and his disciples.

Since the subject has come up on a few of these Hannity threads, could those of us who haven't been on FR since the beginning possibly get a bit of a primer on these horrible armageddon-like flamewars that used to occur?

Thems as knows are either dead, or still in burn wards, m'boyo.:)

Besides, the Great Flame War went from Nov. 1998 to May, 1999. There was a much lesser flame war a couple of years ago. These things happen in the best of families, and most of the threads have gone down the famous Memory Hole. It was another time, and having watched it all, I can truthfully say that FR has turned out greatly for the better afterwards

I agree that they are scary. However, it has implications beyond the fact that they are not to be trusted with power. Because they are so insane, it effectively eliminates competition for the conservative vote. As everyone knows, when an entity lacks competition, customer service plummets. Thus we have a GOP that counts my being taxed to pay for Teddy Kennedy's Viagra as a major policy victory.

Why would conservatives back away from the swifties? My husband had two swift boat crews stationed aboard his ship in Vietnam.

Was that one theme to purchase one of his books?

There are certain individuals on this website -- some of whom are no doubt liberals pretending to be conservatives,

There are DUmmies at DU who make no bones about the fact that they have accounts here at FR and "post among us" as it were.
