STATE OF THE UNION -- 2005 [Live Thread]
2/2/05
Posted on 02/02/2005 3:43:44 PM PST by Timeout
The pre-spin: Bush will spend about 1/2 the speech on foreign policy, 1/2 on domestic, with heavy emphasis on Social Security reform. It's said he will provide a detailed tutorial on the SS system and its problems with a few details on his personal accounts proposal.
Laura's guests are said to be an Afghan voter and an Iraqi voter (too bad there's no Ukrainian wearing an orange hat!).
Should we start a drinking game on how many times the pool camera swings to Hillary? Hmmm. Probably not...it would likely hamper out typing ability.
Word on the blogs has it that the closing part of the speech is a hum-dinger. Set your VCR's.
Report here on outrageous MediaCrat spin before AND after the SOTU. Pictures and screen caps welcome.

Oh yes, that poor man. Sitting so stiff and without expression, as the AP described him yesterday. Is this a recent shot or an older one?

I've used a trackball before, aside from having to clean the dead skin, hair, and diry out of the thing, I ended up with carpal tunnel syndrome. There's that (far less cleaning with the optical ones).

What is Kids First?
Kerry proposed nationally covered health care for every child in the US.
This is a BAD idea. Where will the money come from?
Please tell me Bush isn't proposing the same thing.

I really hope there isn't much attention brought to the ink stained finger. That symbolism for struggle of oppressed people that wish to be free belongs to the Iraqis. ... Hmmm - I think it'd be be just grand for us to show solidarity with them - and we (the US) did have a lot to do with them getting the vote - lots of military and familes, many giving the ultimate...
But I'll clobber any lib who shows a blue finger

I may have to check out Kensington. Then again, I'm quite particular (had to jettison Microshaft's thumb trackball because the layout didn't work).
