More and more good folks are finding out about Terri and that judicial tyranny would take her life, but for lots and lots of prayer and non-stop lobbying of relatives, friends, clergy, our leaders, the media, a passerby, a cashier - ANYONE who you feel comfortable chatting with.
Folks always want to know how can this be in America or on earth for that matter? Unfortunately, this is really happening to an innocent woman who just celebrated her 41st birthday. She's not the only one but she's the one with devoted parents and siblings who knows what's in Terri's heart. Terri has a strong will to live. That's apparent. It's been 14 years.
Besides, feeding tubes have been around practically since the Civil War. They are not high tech devices. Terri is "not hooked up to machines". Her feeding tube is the diameter of a piece of spaghetti.
Talkin' about Terri is the best way to lobby for her. It is a salespitch to save her life and subsequently, many lives. If you've never sold anything in your life, START NOW. START WITH TERRI.

AGAIN WE HAVE A NEW RECORD: 15,103 views on the tote board for the Terri Schindler Schiavo January Daily Thread!
The most significant event in Terri's case in January, was the Supreme's Courts refusal to hear Governor Jeb Bush's appeal, after the Florida State Legislature struck down Terri's Law. This once again places Terri's life in extreme jeopardy, though there are other issues regarding her case before the court.
Message from Terri's sister.
Last night at Woodside Hospice, Terri's sister, Suzanne, thanked everyone for their prayers and support. Suzanne was nearly in tears as she thanked everyone on behalf of Terri and her family. Suzanne said that saying "thank you" doesn't seem to be enough, that words can't express how her family feels about the support they are getting.
Suzanne, her husband, daughter, and Monsignor Malanowski visited Terri last night. Suzanne said that Terri was cheerful and was happy to see her. Terri always laughs at Monsignor Malanowksi's jokes.
The rest of Terri's family traveled to Jacksonville last night for today's press conference with the Justice Coalition.

The DCF did conduct an investigation at the field level, then sent it up the chain of command. Up at that level, this guy with the name starting with "N" apparently refused to act on it and buried it. Greer had a copy of whatever it consisted of and ordered it SEALED. SEALED!!! ...

I too would like to know what was in the papers that Nagatani blocked from action and Greer sealed. However, this current one is probably much better than the original. Just a hunch. Gibbs has seen what the DCF has now, I believe. He seemed confident. I don't know how to email individuals at DCF. The general email for DCF has been posted many times on this thread and FReepers were urged to call and or email them. I would guess that is as close as you will get to letting them know of your support for their investigation.
McKibben is the DCF attorney involved now, correct. But I believe I read in the Empire Journal that a man, who was named but I don't remember it, was there representing the administrative side of DCF...I mean, there in Greer's court along with McKibben.
Was McKibben the attn whose pic was posted on this thread as she tried to approach the bench, but was refused the privilege by Judge Greer? I thought she looked genuinely concerned and strong in that photo. I liked her immediately on first impression.
Seems that I recall another article that mentions Nagatani and Greer or maybe this is the only one at TEJ.

that is crazy. IMO, that means that DCFS is just getting intimidated, and what they need to do is step up and tell MS and Greer where they can shove it.
Apparently, the head guy at the Federal agency to protect the disabled approached Michael as Terri's Guardian. Apparently, he ignored the conflict of interest involved in Michael being her Guardian while at the same time a possible suspect in her abuse. Just as Greer has ignored that conflict. As to the guy having no access to the sealed records from DCF, well, if his part in this happened after the sealing, you are correct. I don't know the time sequence. But I don't know exactly what Michael was blocking him from, whether it involved the sealed records in particular, or the guy going to see Terri, or looking into her "care", or how she got this way in the first place.....just don't know. But the guy did note in writing, it seems, that he tried to investigate but could not get permission from Michael Schiavo.
No, the DCF was stopped by a high up guy, Nagatani, within their own organization. The guy who was supposed to investigate her abuse as a disabled person heads up a Federal Agency with an office in FL. He is the one who wrote that he tried to investigate but could not get Michael's permission. And keep in mind, we are talking past tense here in terms of the DCF. They do not seem to be intimidated now. That was a Federal Agency to protect the disabled who was. The DCF is going ahead this time because they are not being stopped by a higher up within the agency, as before.

There is MUCH to resolve in this horrific sage of abuse and neglect and injustice.
Well, thank God! I hope they can do this investigation and conclude there is abuse in time to save Terri. They know they have a deadline and they will do what it takes to get it done before.
The Schindler's attorney, David Gibbs, said on TV last week that there will be a hearing of some sort THIS WEEK into what the DCF has on these allegations.

I agree, as well on your statements.
You know, I've been wondering why the family doesn't sue all members of the media for slander and libel. No matter how many times they are corrected, they continue to deliberately publish and report false information. There is no excuse for them being uninformed - they are doing it maliciously and with intent to harm. Every time the media reports that she is "vegetative" or that her injuries were caused by an "eating disorder" or "heart problem," more people are given incorrect information. These stories are designed to make the reader or listener form false conclusions which results in harm to Terri (as evidenced by negative results on the opinion polls). I don't know anything about the law, but just reading the definitions of these two words in the dictionary makes me think they would apply to what is being done to her.

Malanowski is the source of the "St. Patrick's day Polish Joke" anecdote, IIRC. Can either of you ladies point me to that anecdote? It's a piece of evidence that has stuck with me since I heard it, and I'd like to have a text description handy.
