More and more good folks are finding out about Terri and that judicial tyranny would take her life, but for lots and lots of prayer and non-stop lobbying of relatives, friends, clergy, our leaders, the media, a passerby, a cashier - ANYONE who you feel comfortable chatting with.
Folks always want to know how can this be in America or on earth for that matter? Unfortunately, this is really happening to an innocent woman who just celebrated her 41st birthday. She's not the only one but she's the one with devoted parents and siblings who knows what's in Terri's heart. Terri has a strong will to live. That's apparent. It's been 14 years.
Besides, feeding tubes have been around practically since the Civil War. They are not high tech devices. Terri is "not hooked up to machines". Her feeding tube is the diameter of a piece of spaghetti.
Talkin' about Terri is the best way to lobby for her. It is a salespitch to save her life and subsequently, many lives. If you've never sold anything in your life, START NOW. START WITH TERRI.

AGAIN WE HAVE A NEW RECORD: 15,103 views on the tote board for the Terri Schindler Schiavo January Daily Thread!
The most significant event in Terri's case in January, was the Supreme's Courts refusal to hear Governor Jeb Bush's appeal, after the Florida State Legislature struck down Terri's Law. This once again places Terri's life in extreme jeopardy, though there are other issues regarding her case before the court.
| If I may butt my nose in here and add to this: If you intend to contact the legislature or senate, you may wish to consider reminding them that anything that happens to Terri Schiavo will surely happen to Florida's elderly and disabled citizens. I think one of the major problems here is that lawmakers are not seeing past this particular case nor are they seeing the absolute chaos that will come down if they allow the state to order people dead. There are two House Bills currently scheduled for consideration. I've found the provision on PVS uncomfortable but, as has been stated on this thread, please read it for yourself and don't take my opinion as fact. The second has to do with evidence code. This bill will effectively eliminate the protections incapacitated people have against self-serving hearsay testimony. If the lawmakers think the Schiavo case is a mess, this law would turn similar cases into disasters. There is a twin in the senate that is currently in civil justice committee. I truly think our lawmakers need to hear from as many people as possible on this and as soon as humanly possible. What is the difference between news and blogs? Why is this muslim blog ( http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1345012/posts ) considered news, but an American Newspaper that is recognized as such by everyone else is considered a blog?
I was under the impression that you had not taken a position on Terri Schiavo. A handful of Freepers have taken the liberal position on this, and have trolled these threads pushing their liberal agenda. I've always held out some hope that you would take an interest, because that would bring a lot of positive attention to the cause. In just a few days Terri's estranged husband will probably begin her extermination, and it appears you've taken an interest. Unfortunately, you've chosen to hinder the efforts to save Terri's life, by doing an end-run around your own policies. As the deadline gets even closer, will you put more restrictions on us?
I don't you should be making unfounded accusations. A moderator thought the website in question was a personal news site and accordingly moved the article to the Bloggers & Personal forum. I was asked about it later and said that this particular site could be posted into the news forum. That should be the end of it.

In light of the fact that the next few days will be filled with breaking news, it would have been nice if your message to us had been delivered. thank you for finally clearing it up. YOu might want to have a talk with the moderator who didn't bother delivering the message.

I didn't see anything in the petition that says that you have to be a Florida resident. They ask for your zip code, so I'm going to assume that they can sort by Florida zip codes if they need to. I imagine it is important to see how many people outside of Florida are paying attention to this case too.
I don't know how much legal standing an online petition has without written signatures, but the more online signatures, the more the point is made.

There isn't anything that I could find (in FL statutes)when researching the petition that said the sigs have to be in writing. I think that while it is very important to have as many Floridians as possible agree to the petition that is good for our gov't here to know that many people are watching to see what will happen. Florida depends on tourist $$$$, we lost a lot due to all the hurricanes last year. No one wants to think that if they were on vacation in FL and in a horrible car accident or something of that nature that a feeding tube could endanger their prospects for continuing to live.

I wanted to ask if you would investigate the relationship between the “independent court-appointed” doctor and George Felos and how he was chosen to be the independent doctor in the first place by Judge Greer.

Has collusion been a factor in the Terri Schiavo case? Supporters of the disabled Pinellas woman think so.
Clearwater, FL September 16, 2003: Supporters of the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation have uncovered a possible link to collusion in the legal proceedings involving attorney George Felos (representing Michael Schiavo) and the neurologist Dr. Peter Bambakidis (court appointed, independent, examining physician).
During the 2002 trials, the court ordered that two physicians would be chosen by Michael Schiavo, two would be chosen by Bob and Mary Schindler (Terri Schiavo’s parents) and one would be appointed by the court as an independent examining physician. All five physicians would later give testimony to the condition of Ms. Schiavo. The independent physician, Dr. Peter Bambakidis of Ohio, would testify in favor of Michael Schiavo in that Ms. Schiavo was in a persistent vegetative state and without hope of recovery.
Supporters of the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation have learned that Dr. Bambakidis and attorney George Felos may have had a personal relationship prior to Dr. Bambakidis being assigned to the case on April 24, 2002.
In marketing materials promoting his seminars, Mr. Felos notes that he has served as a Governor for the American Hellenic Education Progressive Association (document here).
Upon research, supporters discovered that the Ohio chapter of the American Hellenic Education Progressive Association was managed by Gust Bambakidis (link here).
Both Gust and Peter Bambakidis are graduates of Case Western University (Gust, Peter) and are believed to be related. Both were born in Ohio and live there currently. Additionally, Nicholas Bambakidis (son of Gust and a neurologist) had, for some time, worked with Peter Bambakidis (link here).
During testimony in 2002, Dr. Peter Bambakidis was asked repeatedly by attorney Patricia Anderson (representing Bob and Mary Schindler) if he had any personal relationship with attorney George Felos. Dr. Bambakidis insisted that he did not know of Mr. Felos prior to being appointed by Judge Greer though he could not provide sufficient explanation as to his appointment nor had he ever testified in any similar court case prior to the 2002 trial of Terri Schindler-Schiavo.
The supporters of the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation believe these coincidences to be indication of possible collusion in the case and are calling on state officials to launch a full and thorough investigation. This apparent connection raises many questions by the Foundation as to the neutrality and integrity of the proceedings. Supporters have complained that neither state officials nor press have investigated these irregularities. By copy of this release, notice will be given to Governor Jeb Bush, State Attorney Bernie McCabe and Florida’s Attorney General Charlie Crist.
