"Do you have to be from Florida to sign the petition?"
I didn't see anything in the petition that says that you have to be a Florida resident. They ask for your zip code, so I'm going to assume that they can sort by Florida zip codes if they need to. I imagine it is important to see how many people outside of Florida are paying attention to this case too.
I don't know how much legal standing an online petition has without written signatures, but the more online signatures, the more the point is made.

There isn't anything that I could find (in FL statutes)when researching the petition that said the sigs have to be in writing. I think that while it is very important to have as many Floridians as possible agree to the petition that is good for our gov't here to know that many people are watching to see what will happen. Florida depends on tourist $$$$, we lost a lot due to all the hurricanes last year. No one wants to think that if they were on vacation in FL and in a horrible car accident or something of that nature that a feeding tube could endanger their prospects for continuing to live.
