A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

LOL!....whatever are you babbling about....you silly thing? Those flowers are just our small way of saying thank you again for everything. I hope they bring a touch of springtime to your snowy day. Now you will have the best of both...a beautiful snowfall to enjoy and a reminder of spring on the way.

HUGS! :-)

LOL. Here, not to seem pedantic, for we all know what those people (TTM) are like, but let me make an itsy bitsy correction.

"Those flowers are just our small gargantuan way of saying thank you again"

(No, but seriously, there are so many different types of flowers, including many different types of roses, that you can see from different angles.)

Thanks so much for photographing them for us. It is always nice to see that what you ordered is actually what was delivered. :-)

Freezie, after reading your rather incoherent post I found that there were a couple of things we both we can agree on.......

"I really haven't been nice to anyone lately"

"they're much too nice for me!"

Here are some more flowers for you, and please don't start blubbering again. It will only embarrass the both of us. :-)

So happy they arrived today.

Thank you for letting us see them.

They are a small token to let you know how much we appreciate everything you did for us. Now ... you must come to California. :)

P.S. My, we do play rough, though?! I'm glad this is in the back of the thread. I do recall we were tussling once long ago and I saw a post indicating that someone didn't know we were joking. I tried to straighten it out, but I felt kinda guilty.

Here's a photo from the pre-inaugural dinner. See Jim Robinson in the upper left?

Picking Daisies

Read: Romans 8:31-39

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! —1 John 3:1

Bible In One Year: Exodus 8-10

I can recall when in grade school my eyes first met those of a brown-eyed girl seated a couple of rows away from me. It's hard to put into words, but something happened. It was my first case of "puppy love." Those were the days when we'd take a daisy and pluck off its petals one by one, all the while saying with a certain person in mind, "She loves me, she loves me not." Oh, how it hurt when the daisy's last petal was "she loves me not."

This reminds me of a little girl who came running into the house one morning, sobbing. "What's wrong, dear?" her mother asked. Throwing herself into her mother's arms, she cried, "God doesn't love me anymore." "Of course He does," the mother said reassuringly. "No, He doesn't," the child sobbed. "I know He doesn't because I tried Him with a daisy."

The only reliable way to know that God loves us is to consider everything He does for us each day. And if there's still any doubt, think of what He did to save us! The Bible says, "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

We can be confident of God's unfailing love because He has proven it beyond all question. Yes, His love is a sure thing. —Richard De Haan

I am so glad that our Father in heaven
Tells of His love in the Book He has given;
Wonderful things in the Bible I see—
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me. —Bliss

God loves each one of us as if there were but one of us to love.

"Please, God, help me run away when the ice-cream man comes tomorrow."

Aw, bless his little heart. I hope he was strong the next day. :)

Eve is doing very well at this time. We are waiting on more test to see if surgery is needed. The Dr hopes it can be corrected by diet, exercise and medication.

I hope so, too. Know you will watch her carefully, and we'll stay prayed up for you both. Please keep us posted as you have time. Thank you, Dubya. Take good care, Eve.

WOW! Your Breath of Spring Bouquet right here in the middle of the blizzards and ice and snow is just, well ... breathtaking!

From the East Coast to the West Coast, Freepers are just plain nice! You showed them such a wonderful time, they'll be talking about it for days and days, and not at all surprising they would want to show their appreciation for your warm hospitality during their stay in DC.

Another great photo! That mirror image is neat! I admit, I *am* wondering about the expressions on Amy's and Lori's faces. :)
