A day in the life of President Bush (1/23/05) photos

The first family attended church this morning. Afterwards, the President headed to Camp David where he was to meet with his advisors to work on his State of the Union Address.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: At this second gathering, our duties are defined not by the words I use, but by the history we have seen together. For a half century, America defended our own freedom by standing watch on distant borders. After the shipwreck of communism came years of relative quiet, years of repose, years of sabbatical - and then there came a day of fire.

Some, I know, have questioned the global appeal of liberty - though this time in history, four decades defined by the swiftest advance of freedom ever seen, is an odd time for doubt. Americans, of all people, should never be surprised by the power of our ideals. Eventually, the call of freedom comes to every mind and every soul. We do not accept the existence of permanent tyranny because we do not accept the possibility of permanent slavery. Liberty will come to those who love it.

Hi, Wolfstar. I'd help but only know the most basic picture posting stuff. Thanks for trying to post the Barney pup pics.

The President's dad and mom, and Laura's mom went to church with them. So you're probably right. Laura's at the White House with family and the animals.

Now you're making me hungry! I made my cooking list for the week and got the ingredients, but tomorrow is cooking day. Everyone has just been snacking today so supper will be leftovers or hamburgers on the George grill.

I must admit that I am a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to food on Sunday I do like the traditional Sunday roast.

I wonder if we'll be seeing more of 41 and Bar now that W won his second term and has had time to convince the weak minded that he doesn't need to consult his father in order to run the country, and now that his parents are four years older and time together is more precious.

I would like to see some reporters ask Laura about her parents, more about her childhood, and the forces that helped turn her into the outstanding human being she is.

Reprising an earlier photo with a caption that stays on my mind:

"God loves a cheerful giver."

I must say, this is hilarious...I had wendy's for lunch!!!
Hahaha, great minds and all that! The semester is going well so far (just starting week 3). The homework is starting to pile on, but such is life. I dropped my american indians class, due to the overtly anti-bush prof who wanted us to go out to the streets and riot like hippies...the class wasn't really about "american indians", it was about dirty hippies. It was obnoxious, I didn't bother going back after the first day, when we watched a video about 1968-not a mention of american indians or their culture.

Oh and I am in an appartment so I have an oven and everything! And me and my other three male roomates cook. We even use a crock-pot. We had homemade chicken noodle soup last night, don't know about tonight.

How are things in Nebraska?

The Photobucket service worked! Here's the Barney puppy photos, starting with the painting that didn't show up in post #15 above. This whimsical painting hangs in the First Lady's office.

Barney makes his social debut at the age of 6 months, at the annual Ritz-Carlton Cherry Blossom Tea, spring 2001.

Barney, back when he was still light enough to be carried by the First Lady. (Translation: Before he became the President's dog.)
