I have to give Kerry credit for showing up to honor the man who beat him -- whether he meant it or not, he showed up. The Inauguration ceremony is a public expression of what makes our country different -- the rare triumph of ballots over violence. What a great day!

I thought Kerry behaved as a gentleman should.
The rueful expression on his face here is poignant indeed, a real acknowledgement of the fact as hard as he tried, the American people preferred Bush by a wide margin--and maybe, just maybe, it's because Bush is more of a man.
