All systems are go for the D.C. Chapter's American Sector on the Inaugural Parade route.
The weather is cold, but warmer than the past few days. The sun is peaking through the clouds. Snow covers the sidewalks, but Pennsylvania Avenue has been cleared.
The barricades are up everywhere. Small groups of people are walking around checking things out.
I did a recon last night with BufordP after the Freeper dinner. ANSWER has their bleachers set up on John Marshall Plaza at the starting point for the parade at 4th St. and Pennsylvania Ave. They also have a stage and speaker risers right on the sidewalk at Pennsylvania Ave.
For all their wailing about the Presidential Inaugural Committee denying the public access to the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Ave., ANSWER has taken up most of the sidewalk space themselves with their stage and sound equipment, thereby denying their own people access to the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Ave. I hope the courts take that hypocriscy into account if their case is appealed.
Snow covered most of the American Sector last night. For those not sure where we'll be today, here's the info:
The northeast corner of 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Look for Freepers wearing white Pajama Patrol badge t-shirts with the word 'Marshal' in red letters on the back.
We'll be there from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. We'll have a rally from 10:30 to 11:30. After that, we'll line the parade route in our permitted area on the same block, just a few feet down on the north side of the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
We'll be calling in updates throughout the day.
Next time kristinn calls in I'll pass along the information about your daughter.
Anyone else have a message to pass along to the on-scene FReepers?
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I would have paid money to see/hear you say that to Chrissy!
Since he has Ron on and a bunch of other vacant heads on his show, I can't stand to watch it for more than 5 seconds, only to see if they have a shot of the Capitol that I'm missing from any other channel. Having learned that they always have the cameras trained on the mugs of whomever is talking, I won't have to bother checking out that channel anymore.
Waiting for more news, Race Bannon! And welcome to DC.
I have a niece and a nephew in the parade as well. But they're not Freepers and I don't want to pass along their names. But it is so exciting.

How about a link to that cam? I love using cams to watch stuff.
Most days, I use the one at Waikiki Beach, which only serves to make me homesick. Wish I'd never moved back to the mainland.
That is so cool! An inauguration is such a neat, traditional event anyway, but then to have 3 people in your family participating must be just awesome!
Thanks for the updates, SAHM!
Wonderful!
Enjoy the great music today: The U.S. Marine Band is at the swearing-in ceremony. Then The U.S. Army Band will escort the President to the reviewing stand.
Once the parade starts, The U.S. Army Field Band will lead. Later will come The U.S. Marine Band, The U.S. Navy Band, The U.S. Air Force Band, and The U.S. Coast Guard Band -- all in the order of senority of each branch of the services.
Some of our Nation's finest musicians on display - Whoo-Hoo!
Saw you on Fox last night and was so proud! I wish I could be there! I live vicariously through you, so I'm looking forward to the post-inaugural freep report!
That'd be a great name for a town.
Slappakhamie, Wisconson.
Kissaloura, Maine.
See # 35 above
Looks freezing cold. Just had a good cam on 7th and Independence - couldn't find Constitution. Now I have a cam on the Capitol Building. How exciting!
Cam links are in post #35.
7th and Pennsylvania! Everyone looks like they are standing at attention!
On the traffic cam map, 7th and Pennsylvania is the green dot directly above 7th and Independence.
God Bless and stay warm!
Is 7th and Independence where DC Freepers are standing? Why is no one in the stands at 7th and Pennsylvania?
