I'm a 48 year old mother of 2 very successful adult children. I am a Kid Rock fan, and love the fact that Kid Rock stands up for our country, and respects our troops. And our troops seem to like him as well. If he's good enough for them, he's good enough for me!
I think the theme of this thread should be "hate the sin, love the sinner". That thought seems to be lost these days.
My favorite singer in the world is Hank Williams Sr. He sang about drinking, cheating, and love gone wrong. But he also sang gospel.
I love the fact that I'm a Conservative, and a Republican, and have been for as long as I can remember. I don't like the fact that some of my people have become "holier than thou".
1)holier than thou and
2)fuddy duddy
is
3)a gross exaggeration.
Frankly, those lyrics are soooooo bad, it is your opinion, in my opinion, which is extreme.
...holier than thou....
There are always people around who are holier than others - because each of us progresses through stages of faith at different times. I am surrounded by people I know are holier than me. Am I to shun them? They can't help that they are more geared to a life of faith than I am at my current stage. Does this mean they must shut up and have no views because it appears that they are closer to God than I am?
Ridiculous.
If you can't stand to hear views from people who you consider are coming across "holier than thou", you might want to look at "WHY". Can you better receive views from those less holy than you? Maybe that should tell you something.
