I don't see what the big deal is - especially if the Bush Twins requested he perform. I'm assuming whatever "ball" he would've performed at will consist mostly of young people and the President would only make a brief appearance.

Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all.

"He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND

****************

I understand that he's a talented musician, who supported President Bush's re-election.

I don't think his music is appropriate for the inauguration festivities, however.

I'm disapointed in this. Kid Rock would have attracted alot of young people maybe to become Repubs knowing that He's a Repub.

What idiots. No wonder so many young folks see the GOP as stuffy, out-of-it, fuddy-duddies. Hilary Duff and JoJo? I gues the Osmonds were deemed too racy by Clown Wildmon and his followers.

Way to go people! We just alienated a whole group of young people, that are going to be able to vote for a long time. republicans have said they are the party of inclusion, but have proved that they are not. This was a dumb move. I don't like Kid Rock, but its not like he was Boy George, or the Dipsie Chix.

Geez, this is what I hate about the extreme parts of the Republican party. Why don't they just leave it to the people organizing the gala. Uptight, crazies. Do they really think he's going to go mouth off at an inaugural party. We finally have some musicians young people can relate to, and we go just throw them away because we don't like a few things they do. Unbelievable. I wouldn't be surprised if Kid Rock gives up trying to support this Administration.

I bet this thread will be full of snotty celebration by those self-apointed 'voices of social conservatism' who always scream that they'll stay home if they don't get 101% of their way, then turn around and expect those who aren't social conservatives to continue to vote GOP while being spat upon at every turn.

I am social conservative and not at all a Kid Rock fan, but recognize that there are many who aren't social conservatives whom I still share common beliefs in other areas and welcome their participation in the GOP. It is not just 'my party' and shouldn't be completely stifling. Yes there is a fine line sometimes between tolerating and condoning, but there's seems to be a bit of an overreaction about this whole concert.

If you act like a 'Smoking Nazi' don't count on smokers voting for your candidate. Very parallel to how some are treating the more libertine side of conservatives.

I could care less if Kid Rock performs or not.

But you'd think someone involved in the planning would have questioned the wisdom of inviting a drug-using, porn-acting, vulgarity-spewing, Barbara Bush hater to an Inauguration activity to preform.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.........

Im trying to figure out what this song even means....is he for it or against abortion???

"Abortion" (History of Rock 2000)

My veins are poppin from this love inside
I just can't let it out
This pipe and these needles are my only guide
They've got me on the wrong route
What is my life about
Living in the shadows of a man I've never seen
Dreamin' like a lonely child
I know your brothers and your sister and your mother too

Man I wish you could see them too
Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Man I wish that you could see them too
Man I wish that you could see them too

So can I come to see you sometime
Cause I been missin you
I've never heard you cry I've never seen you whine
I'm feeling oh so young
But still I must die to get to you
And if I do I wonder how just you will see me
And implicate the things I've done
I'm diein in the shadows of this man I've never seen
I'll see you soon
Now where's my gun

Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Oh Lord
Wheres my gun
Oh wheres my gun
Oh Lord
Wheres my gun
Oh Lord
My gun

Let me open your eyes
Let me see who you are
I am you, you are me
We are a part of
The second coming of christ
It's God himself in a jar
Yeah...yeah
Yeah...yeah

Let me open your eyes
Let me see who you are
I am you, you are me
We are a part of
The second coming of christ
Its god himself in a jar
Yeahhhh
Heyyyyyyy

You got me, sad and lonely
When I'm me...me
You know you make me so lonely
I am so alone
And I will prey and then I'll cry
And I will prey and then I'll cry
And I will prey and then I'll cry
And I will prey and then I'll cry

Another example of the "lame-wing" of the conservative movement ruining everyone's fun. Don't you people have video games to take away or something?

"I don't see what the big deal is - especially if the Bush Twins requested he perform."

Oh gee, in THAT case...Might a Roman Empire-style 'Victory Procession' complete with trumpeteers, elephants, charioteers, and tossed rose petals suffice instead?

I strongly supported President Bush last election. Now, I'm not no a Kid Rock fan -- I listen to very little, rock, at all, for that matter. But I'm not a social conservative, either. I would like there to be some events at the inauguration that did not remain within social conservative guidelines.

Heck, our nation's tolerance of social liberty/decadence/call-it-what-you-will is one of the things that the Muslim fanatics hate about the U.S. and that President Bush is doing his best to defend.

Secretary of the Interior James "A black, a woman, two Jews and a cripple" Watt once banned the Beach Boys from some official performance at or near the White House. Unfortunately for him, Nancy Reagan loved the Beach Boys and he had to backpedal faster than Dan Rostenkowski from a gaggle of angry seasoned citizens.

Obviously, some of Kid Rock's material isn't suitable for prime time or for an inaugural. As long as he was willing to keep the R-rated stuff out, I wouldn't have had a problem with him performing. We have to remember that the current generation of yoots learned about vulgar behavior from BJ Clinton.

The stupid part of the republican party wins again....this has nothing to do with morals this has to do with a guy who has gone out of his way to support Bush and our troops...what a PR nightmare this Administration gets into.

I am all for family values.. that is why my young children do not listen to Kid Rock.... But I do listen to him- and I have more family values than most people. This is ridiculous and very silly.

Kid Rock has been more of a positive role model than many of the government "officials" who will be at these balls.
