I don't see what the big deal is - especially if the Bush Twins requested he perform. I'm assuming whatever "ball" he would've performed at will consist mostly of young people and the President would only make a brief appearance.

I don't think it would have been proper for the Republican party to promote Kid Rock. As one who rails against the decline in our culture in general, and in so-called music especially, I am glad he won't be performing. People have the choice to listen to his type of entertainment, but I don't think he would have been an appropriate entertainer for inauguration events.

That's a mistake. I'm not a big Kid Rock fan, but he supports the President and the troops. As long as he kept it clean, he should perform.

The troops love him.

He also makes fun of Laura Bush in one of his songs.

Well that's too bad. He is a staunch supporter of Pres Bush, and our troops. He is a conservative thinker. He might have 'raunchy' lyrics, but I think of him as a sort of young Ted Nugent. Wild enough in his younger days, but conservative and intelligent and outspoken. Kid Rock has that potential. I have a feeling he would have been thrilled to be included, and would have kept his appearance 'clean'. Some of the lyrics aside, he's good, too.

Oh, well. I though his support of Bush and of our troops would be enough. I guess not.

don't see what the big deal is

Seriously?

You're interested enough to post an article on this, but you have never read even one of the many columns or essays detailing his lyrics, what he represents, what he stands for, and why people see him as an inappropriate performer at this President's inauguration?

I mean, it'd be one thing to say you have a different view; but you're actually telling us all you have no idea why people object to him?

Where have you been? Was the weather nice there?

Dan

An entire section of loyal Bush supporters are being alienated here. Let's call them the NASCAR section. They just want to have a good time and listening to Kid Rock is fun. Yeah, he can be raunchy but who isn't nowadays? JoJo??? She is a 14 year old who sings about love and relationships and other things 14 year olds have no business singing about. And most people attending the inauguration will be adults. Why subject them to children performers?

Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers

Boy, they’re really left with some happening exciting lineup!

Maybe they can entice The Brady Kids to reunite and add a little more edge.

This is BS, pure BS. Kid Rock supports our troops, loves our country, WTF????? Its not like Kid was going to be the only entertainer. Back in the 50's or 60's or whenever the old farts hated Elvis cause he shaked his hips. This is bogus. Kid Rock rules, he supported the President and the moral majority has given our opponents some more arrows to use against us.
