Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all. "He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND. No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time. Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance. LOL. The living embodiment of what I was talking about to AppyPappy!!
Valleygirl, I consider myself "far right" too. I am a Reagan republican. And I am part of the Christian Right as well. But I am also a southerner and I appreciate good music--which is exactly what Kid Rock, Hank Jr, Charlie Daniels, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and my other favs are.
These people who are bashing KR really don't know anything about the man.
That I have heard, that Christians shouldn't vote. I know of certain "denominations" that feel that way.
100% correct.
MK (missionary kid) I can quote Scripture with the best of 'em.
The e-mail actually said Bush was pro-abortion? We just ousted a state senator for making up similar lies against his opponent in a campaign ad (that got him elected two years ago).
They are not bad people, just forgetting some parts of the Word.
According to Drudge:
Bush Inaugural official responds: Says Kid Rock never booked; Praises star for active support of troops, USO... Developing...
Don't know why everyone is getting their knickers in a twist. He wasn't asked to perform so he never was "kicked" from the Inaugural performance. I still think if the Bush girls wanted him there, then they are old enough to decide what and who they want to listen to.
Thanks a bunch for linking that video properly for me, Howlin. :-)
Hey, I was listening to stuff that bad or worse as a teen. But not every parent approves of their kids listening to those types of lyrics. Bottom line is that this isn't a concert at the local civic center. It's an inauguration ball at the nations capital and the primary audience will be kids. If supporters scream and complain about the ball because of moral objections to some of the starting acts, that could translate to lost fundraising (lest we forget the real purpose of all these events).Sometimes compromise is a good thing, and thats not a knock on KR. He knows what his image is, and those who know what he did for the USO will appreciate him regardless of what the screaming eggheads say.
What then do you have a problem with? His support of this country? His support of this president? His belief in God? Him having sole custody of his son and not touring during the week so he can make sure he is home for him? His love of capitalism? Or are you against some stupid rap songs he wrote years ago?
Okay my fault, back to Reading Comprehension 101 foe me!
8^)
You need to understand exactly what He was saying.
What's the "Holier-Than-Thou" ping list?
(and do I want to be on it?)
Next time, all you have to do is copy and paste the link; absolutely NO formatting of any kind in the reply box and it will post up just like you type it.
Remember, NO HTML.....no < no P no nothing.
Weed's fine, but he gets nasty when we have tequila shots.
I'll avoid tequila shots with Willie. He is kinda losing it anyway politically.
Because for some people any excuse to bash the holier-than-thou fuddy-duddy Christian Taliban is a good one.
Absolutely....welcome to the circus!
;-)
It's a ping list for those who wish to gather round and watch the "Holier-Than-Thous" pontificate to the rest of us.
It originated on the "The Sin of Divorce" thread where Gabz was basically damned to hell. :-)
