No Kid Rock at Bush concert
Committee backs off plan to feature rapper after pro-family Americans express outrage

Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all.

"He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND.

No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time.

Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance.

Our heritage begins with the escape from religious and moral subjugation.

That does not define religion or morality as unacceptable, we brought morality and religion with us, we just left the subjugation part with England.

The extreme religious right never supported Bush; not in 2000, not in 2004.

Bush wasn't "religious enough" for the extremists on the right.

I only ask that we define them as the extreme.

Most Christians I know voted for Bush on both occasions.

performing at the White House Presidential Inaugural.

It was going to be for a private Inaugural party, a youth concert "America Rocks Today: A Call to Service," a multimedia concert. Barbara Bush is the event's co-managing director..

Again, it was Not the main "White House Presidential Inagural"

"The only real problem here is that people do not care that the troops love Kid Rock and that he supports the troops and the President."

Nope, you're wrong.

"You all are more concerned about some 'naughty words' then the moral of our troops and their families."

Wrong again.

"It is Self-centered, self indulgent madness that we are talking about- not Christianity."

Nobody ever said "IT" was about "Christianty." Wrong characteization again.

"I say this as a Christan -you do not speak for me."

Diva -- you were 4 for 4.

Your post underscores the wholesale misconstruing of the issue at hand.

Many of you still have comprehension problems that even 2000+ posts can't fix.

The issue simply was whether a Kid Rock should be performing at the Presidential Inaugural Gala as a matter of propriety.

The President must clearly have had the very same misgivings as many of us, and decided against it.

I suppose any gnashing of your teeth must now be pointed in the direction of the "fuddy-fuddy," Talibanesque," "Bible-thumping" President. HE DIS-A-GREES with YOU.

OR, will you all hold your fire because you respect his opinion?

Funny how that works.

Who was the religious right's candidate?

Michael Peroutka, I assume. At least for those purporting to be the religious right on FR. Not that they actually were, but they sure claimed the title loudly enough.

on a crusade with your "CONVERT OR DIE" sword.

Yes stone, we are dealing with the necros and a very apparent:
I am the LORD MARSHALL mentality.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone would point it out. 'till underverse come.'

Priceless.

My grandfather is a "by The Book" type of Christian. Some would say he's extreme, but he says he supports only those Republicans who would uphold the moral fabric of this nation, instead of ripping it to shreds.

I'd take it up with the White House and the President.

The blame has just been outsourced from the Potsie Webber/Shirley Temple-wing of FR."

What I said is that they had no right to IMPOSE their opinion on anyone else, let alone an adult. There is a distinct difference.

It sounds to me like you equate IMPOSE with EXPRESS. How did they IMPOSE their opinion? Did they use the power of the State to coerce the committee to remove KR? It sounds to me like they expressed their opinion and the committee agreed with them.

Thanks for making my point for me.....

Hew will not argue or shout, or make LOUD speeches in the streets. He will be gentle to those who are weak, and kind to those who are helpless. He will persist untill he causes justice to triumph.
