Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all. "He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND. No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time. Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance. I don't think so. What is it?
It is time for Donald Wildmon, et. al., to push for more Scalias and Thomases on the Supreme Court and worry less about the ilk of Kid Rock.
My son has a T shirt with Bart Simpson looking out at a group of people and it says the above. :)
"What he said and what you said he said are two different things."
That's true. How exactly does Rep. Santorum expect such a law to be enforced? I really don't want to get off the subject of KR here but that's a question I have for Rick.
"PS- that is why we are a Republic.. you know Representative and all of that"
Yep - we are not a democracy but a democratic Republic and yes, I'm aware of the differences you cite.
'So to say he has no talent is totally and completely off base. You just don't like him ahhahah..."
Ok, Ok, Ok! I just don't like him!
I do like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre though - real west-coast gangsta rap. I'm not a fan of any white rappers- no real street cred.
:)
"I do like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre though "
(quoting myself!!)
By that, I mean all of their stuff made before 1995, before they wussed out and stopped Def Row Records. Snoop is a mainstream wuss these days.
You are completely right. Unfortunately, this is not new on FR.
The worst of the gang are those who claim to be Christians but then deny all morality. The only sin they cannot abide is "hypocrisy." They set themselves up as gods in judgment over us for performing the one unforgivable sin of "intolerance." They say we are not good Christians if we point out what is wrong, but they have no problem violating their own rules about judging others when they judge us. Why? Because they are not Christians at all.
He doesn't even know when to add the fabric softener...
Then you apparently need to go to the SAME hardware store as your friend...
The screws, nuts and bolts are located in aisle #10.
Damn if they had strippers there I'd be warming up the TIVO!
Ohhhhhh there now I said it! I'm an amoral conservative! Break out the pitchforks....
Kid Rock supports our troops. The Inaugural theme: "Celebrating Freedom, Honoring Service". I am very disappointed in this decision. Jim...maybe Kid Rock could take the stage with Gov. Huckabee at the Freeper Ball :-)
I have no problems with decency or Christianity. I just want the freedom to wallow in indecency, on occasion, in private. And I'm not Christian.
The problem with the dis-invite of Kid Rock is it appears to be a case of a private function giving into outside pressure, in a way that I don't care for.
Perhaps more importantly, it creates a fuddy-duddy image that make some people uncomfortable with the GOP. Which makes it more likely, if marginally so, that some Democrat who wants to make "peace" by kissing terrorist butt will get elected in 2008.
Well, Christophobic folks like you would think that way.
Welcome to FR, I think.
""And then there's the Cult of Coulter. And no, I won't post a photo."
Thank god for small miracles. The funny thing is the pictures that get posted lead one to conclude that the people who think she's good looking are stoned or high in some other fashion. "
Amen for no Ann Coulter pictures! If I want to see a starving, malnourished body, I'll watch some National Geographic story about Ethiopia.
Well said.
The problem is not with Christians expressing their opinions. The problem lies with them thinking that their opinion should rule over everyone.
It's best for everyone if they were to behave morally, but we can't force everyone to do so, and it's not right to try. It's better to serve as living examples people want to emulate. Am I mistaken, or isn't that part of what bearing witness is all about? Showing and telling how embracing Christ as your Savior has changed you for the better? How doing so can help someone else?
JFT, it's not very nice to imply that someone you don't know is a whore.
