Comparison of Top CEO's incomes (Stingy Americans!)
CNBC | 12/28/2004 | Closing Bell

Posted on 12/28/2004 12:38:13 PM PST by pageonetoo

I was just flipping through (about 3:20 pm today) and stopped on CNBC, while tryong to find more news about the tragedy . I heard them talking about the guy who called America "stingy". They then proceeded to show a list of the countries who have pledged money to the Asian relief efforts, with the EU pleding $41 million , US $35, etc.

Next they posted a graphic showing the top CEO salaries in the US, and the top sports earners. Their intent was, obviously, to reinforce the "stingy" American idea, best I could discern...

I find it hilarious, in a way. Their envy is showing, and it's getting nasty.

Well, just look at Bill Gates' net worth, or even cash on hand. And don't forget the legions of MS management!

That's for starters.

How much is Bill & Hillary giving? Or their entourage?

How about the MoveOn group? Don't they care?

I wasn't aware that the effort to provide aid for this region had come to an end already. I'm sure if we had had a few more days, or even weeks, the US, both as a nation and a people, would contribute a great deal more than we've had an opportunity to pledge in the 48 hours or so since the scope of the disaster became apparent. </sarcasm>

I don't know what, if anything, he has contributed to this effort, but I do know that he and his wife donated a billion dollars for children's immunizations. I wouldn't be surprised if he donated a large chunk here as well. I have heard that he and his wife plan to spend most of their money on humanitarian causes, and not leave much behind when they die.

CNBC=Communist News Broadcasting Company

This channel and their brethren revel in showing America in a bad light. They continually manufacture the news instead of factually reporting it.

Heard a story the other day -- before these tragedies -- that Bill Gates is the most generous in the world.

I normally would not have stopped there, but they were showing some pics, then I got into a phone call. After I came back, they were doing this bit, and I lit up...

How about Georgie Soros??!!!

I really don't think that the US should give any MONETARY donationtions. I think that the Treasury Dept or FEMA should have an International Disaster Relief Office. When a disaster like this happens the International Red Cross can submit a list of their needs and the FEMA office transferrs the funds to that supplier.

This idea of just giving them a check or transferring 35 or 450 million dollars to thier account is BS!! I want an accounting of the money and I don't TRUST ANY of these INTERNATIONAL THIEVES!! We have been RIPPED OFF to many times. Besides what is the Interest earned on 35 MIllion Dollars over a seven day period, whatever it is, it's not CHUMP CHANGE !! I don't mind helping anyone, but when they continuously rip you off, call you every obnoxious name in the book, get you into a war, causing the killing of our sons and daughters then call you cheap and stingy!? Enough is enough!! Tighten the screws!!

The person (If one can call him that) works for the UN which means that he does not pay tax. And being from Norway how much does Norway give for foreign aid and has this person ever paid tax on his UN $100 to $300 k salary plus living expenses and special school allotment and, and we could go on. How much does he give to charity? If he is like others from that part of the world not much or none.
