Never had birch beer.

Thanks, aomagrat, for the history of the USS Dunlop. She just missed being in Pearl Harbor on 12/7/41, and earned 6 battle stars.

Kathy Thank You.
I am feeling a little sorry for myself. I was just getting over the last cold and then I attended my Godchilds's birthday party. I am infected again.
My nose is going to fall off even using Puffs with lotion.
I resent the indignity of colds the most. All that mucus seems a little unnecessary.
At least it wasn't flu.

Thank goodness for small favors....no flu. I was introduced to this on vacation.
Had the need a couple times. Either they worked, or the sniffles were allergies maybe. AND...they come in pill form!

Thanks Old Sarge, you are a hoot.
I have had back to back colds. Infected by a little kid this time.
I've been judiciously taking a preparation of honey, lemon, and bourbon. Works wonders for the cough.

Lady Jag, Thanks for the kind thoughts.
I've been hanging out on the couch with my tissues handy.
My nose is getting sore. I was just getting over the last one when I was laid low a second time.

Yep! And now I remember that it's one I like, too! (And I'm usually not a Tony Bennett fan. IMO, Bennett gets all the credit that should go to Al Martino. LOL)

FYI: After Tony, I listened to Al Martino ("To the Door of the Sun") and Al got played
twice three times, so he's still the winner, and now I don't have to feel I've been unfaithful for listening to Bennett. ;)
I don't do pickles...unless they're bred -n butter, sweet gherkins or watermelon rind.
I've never had the last one, but the first two are my favorites, too! Especially candied sweet pickles! (I don't do dill pickles as a rule. Only time I like them is on a Big Boy.)
Have you ever had these candied pickles?

Watermelon rind pickles are very sweet- they taste like candy!! :o)
I have never seen those pickles before - I'm not a connoisseur by any stretch, I just don't like dills either!!
