What I'm waiting to hear from the Hollywood elite is a single good reason why their baseless political opinions should be given any greater consideration than that of my mail man?

These guys saw what just happened to Oliver Stone's latest boondoggle and are running scared that "red" America will wise up and boycott their films. Clooney et al are taking cover behind one or two moderates like Garcia because they don't want to set the table with an extra "turkey" this CHRISTmas.

Hollywood personalities are not selected for their roles based upon intelligence. Only they think that once you have achieved stardom, you are also a genius. If you do not believe me, let me say one word: Cher.

In ten to twenty years most people well ask "who?" when you will read the names of these actors.
Technology is making them obsolite, most of Sky Captain was computer generated as was Polar Express and some of the biggest movies lately was animated ones such as The Incredibles or Shrek.
Why pay Cloony 20 million dollars to make a movie if the technology becomes cheap enough to create an actor without all the problems and egos of current hollywood.
The Movie Studios isn't sending out Golum from Lord of the Rings or Homer Simpson to support stupid political causes or get arrested for drug abuse and they never get old or unable to work. Lord of the Rings might be the last big real actor movie success if trends continue.

Asked why they thought so many actors were Democrats, Clooney responded rhetorically, "Why are so many African-Americans Democrats? I think it has to do with tolerance."
What a pat, simplistic and BS retort. George Clooney must not know the meaning of the word tolerance. And, as history tells us, the Republicans were the ones who worked against slavery.

Garcia said he just hopes everyone in America wants to celebrate different views, which he called the most American thing of all.Yeah, I remember being taught about the Lincoln-Douglas "celebration" on C-Span.

My grandparents came her from Europe and oppression as well. We enjoy these freedoms too, yup...we enjoy our asses off, Mr. Garcia. We do not STAND AROUND WITH OUR HAND OUT waiting for some other working slob to take care of us or for some so called 'celebrity' to belittle our efforts and ideals while urging the slackers of this society to vote for policies and leaders who will rob us further and further to support themselves. All of us have always worked, that's W O R K. In most cases it was and continues to be physically hard, grinding, ill compensated work...not like standing in front of a camera getting along on our looks and smart alec personalities. You jerks have not seen the last of the backlash you invited with your arrogance and stupidity.

"The important thing is that you have the ability to express yourself," he said. "I come from a tragedy where you cannot be free. We came to America 'cause my father wanted me to enjoy those freedoms."Everyone in America has a right to express themselves and live their lives as they wish. What they do not have is the right to force my kids and me to accept and approve of the way they live.

Sounds like they're begging red-staters not to punish them at the box office for their stupidity during the election.
Okay, I forgive Catherine Z-J. But Clooney isn't nearly as easy on the eyes.

I thought this passage was particularly smug.
Asked why they thought so many actors were Democrats, Clooney responded rhetorically, "Why are so many African-Americans Democrats? I think it has to do with tolerance."
Many actors are Democrats, because they are niave and as for African-Americans being predominantly democratic voters, that is because the Dems have successfully warped their agenda into seeming like it is helping minorities through largely racism and classism. It kind of becomes clear that the Democrats are far from the tolerant peace makers they make themselves out to be.

Of course, there are some who upset the theory. Conservative but nonetheless good actor Andy Garcia is one, as is the proudly Republican Danny Aiello and Bush sympathizer James Woods. But as one goes through more and more examples, the theory succeeds more often than it fails. Chicago Tribune
