CNN Hires New President for Its U.S. News Group (The guy who made the bloggers in pajamas comment!)

NEW YORK (Reuters) - CNN News Group on Monday said it has tapped an online media CEO as its new president overseeing U.S. news, just a little over a year after it hired a former local TV newsman to run its domestic operations.

Jonathan Klein, founder and chief executive officer of The FeedRoom Inc., a high-speed Internet news network and video streamer, will assume the role of head of U.S. news operations, answering to CNN President Jim Walton.

CNN is the cable news unit of Time Warner Inc.

"Six years steeped in the digital information industry have helped me understand today's news consumers in ways never before available to media executives," Klein said in a statement.

Klein replaces Princell Hair, who was appointed to oversee the U.S. news group in September 2003. Industry analysts questioned whether Hair, who ran Viacom Inc.'s television stations and was a former TV news director in Los Angeles and Baltimore, was the best candidate to run one of the world's most prestigious news networks.

Hair will assume a new role as senior vice president of program and talent development across the CNN News Group.

Klein was the former executive director of CBS News, with oversight of its flagship "60 Minutes" program.

"Klein was the former executive director of CBS News, with oversight of its flagship "60 Minutes" program.'

Yep, CNN is the perfect for these two lying, spewing anti Americans, Klein and Blather!

Paula Zahn will have to go the street marketing her wares soon as Danny will be replacing her.

How delightful. The creator of the concept of the Pajamahadeen is the new head of CNN. What could be a better proof, if any be needed, that CNN is absolutely clueless. CNN is guaranteed to continue to fail, given this choice at the top.

It doesn't get any better than this.

Each time I think they couldn't (be more clueless), they prove me wrong.

I would say steeped in gin-soaked raisins.

I happened to see this guy the night he made the "guys in their pajamas" comment. A more self-important, smug, pr*ck I could not make up. Cenral Casting would have assigned him the role of "arrogant TV exec."

I look forward to his revamping of CNN, as I am certain that more fiascos will follow. Plus, he hasn't a clue that the Pajamadeen are going to dog his every step. Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch must be laughing themselves silly!

Just another day of Liberal Spin Machine Musical Chairs and the losing effort of trying to out-FOX FOX.

At this point FOX will have to start a Cable II Network to make room for people like Lou Dobbs and Joe Scarborough... I can't imagine Lou will be around CNN long with this guy on board -- maybe the rumors that Dan Rather was coming on the 8p.m. hour was for real??? This guy was the head of 60-minutes at cBS... and I can't imagine Scarborough is going to be around on MSNBC for long -- must be running out his contract in abstencia. Front Page Magazine said last February that if sHillary was running in 08 Scarborough would disappear from MSNBC after the '04 election.
