~ MILITARY SHORT SPEAK ~ |
|
The military seems to have a language of its own, with many terms, acronyms, initialisms and abbreviations that aren't generally used in the "civilian world." What is an acronym? It is a word created from the first letter of a series of other words. It is spoken as one word. What is an initialism? It is a word created from the first letter of a series of other words, but each letter is spoken separately. What is an abbreviation? It is a shortened version of a word. What is Short Speak? It is any and all of the above. Want to know what they are talking about? Read on... |

I happen to like Charles Krauthammer. I find all of his columns that I have read to be profound and well thought out. The man came under some intense criticism on FR.com a while back because of his criticisms concerning a film by Mel Gibson. Namely "The Passion."
Well, I think that I have reviewed that column, and the film and many of the comments made by FR critics concerning it. Krauthammer is in my opinion deserving of respect. I might not agree with him entirely, or even at all, but he has the Right to express his view in this country. I believe that he made a good case, but I came to different conclusions concerning the work. Vive la Difference!
At this point in time I certainly believe that it is premature to be discussing W's third term, I can see why it is a common theme in the recent ranting of today's political pundits. Their candidates lost again and they are travailing over that reality. It seems that they simply do not want to think about today, and they have their eyes set upon tomorrow. On some other tomorrow the sun will come out and the leftist vision for America will be made manifest. As if!
Meanwhile, back in reality, Americans on the whole are simply not buying into the incredibly naive and foolish notion that we are not engaged in a war of a profound nature. Our sons, daughters and brethren are literally being put in harms way regularly. Yes, as they defend us in something that is incomprehensibly being defined by the media as a war which must be invoking politically correct actions. WTF?
It is too bad for them that tomorrow has already arrived. I wrote that earlier comment with a bit of reticence. The left just had their asses handed to them in the proverbial hand basket but they are seemingly unwilling to recognize that fact overtly. The media seems to want to continue to fight in a war zone of their choosing. They do not have the sack to defend our country themselves, so instead they invoke the tactics of Goebells, and the creators of modern day propaganda science in order to achieve their vision of a proper future for posterity..
We are indeed engaged in a war. The media would like to pretend else, and have the people who they consider to be sheep believe otherwise. That does not make the facts any less real. We are indeed in a war, and our Military volunteers are in the very front row. Hell the Islamic Fascists actually have us all in the very front row, but you won't see that fact commented on in the main stream media. Perhaps the next terrorist controlled plane will slam into CBS Headquarters on 57th Street and then their reporters might then entertain a few different notions about our enemies.
The media BS artists might do well to relearn or study the facts (reports) of the old story from antiquity concerning Uriah the Hittite. As far as I am concerned, the modern media has gone a whoring, and they are not innocent concerning acts which have put our Troops into serious jeopardy with their biased reports from combat zones. Combat zones where these reporters are very much insulated from danger even as they contrive vicious and slanted reports which ultimately are destructive to the welfare and survival of our heroes. This sort of behavior and actions puzzle me deeply.
"Uriah was a loyal and obedient servant and soldier whose killing by David to cover up an act of adultery is one of the most tragic and disgraceful incidents in all Bible History."
http://www.keyway.ca/htm2002/uriah.htm
"Goebbels's deeply rooted contempt for humanity, his urge to sow confusion, hatred and intoxication, his lust for power and his mastery of the techniques of mass persuasion were given full vent in the election campaigns of 1932, when he played a crucial role in bringing Hitler to the centre of the political stage."
http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/goebbels.html
Please pardon my vitriol. I am simply an angry white male.

OH NO! Now you've gone and done it. You know that Tomkow is going to have to show you pictures of his kitty katz. Tomkow never came to retrieve his "kitty-kat" that ran away from home and ended up here. So I'm sayin', "Finders, keepers!! neener...neener...neener!" It's a pretty "kitty-kat" and is pretty friendly.....so far. LOL!

Hi, we are with the local Welcome Wagon Branch, and we just wanted to drop by and say "surrender."
Love the Welcome Wagon!!
The Sadaam Hussein Presidential Library has had a few structural problems which have become evident in recent days.
LOL!!
Thanks, Radix, for the great selection of pictures. Please, God, may loved ones see loved ones.

Hmm, don't have any Christmas music just yet. Oh well. Been hooking up our new computer!! :) Today has been alright, not too bad, but 3 tornado's have touched down within about 30 minutes from my house. It's wonderful...:(
And a newsman just interrupted the Amazing Race to tell us that we have another one coming our way, will be here in about an hour, and on the radar, it's completely red and purple... grrr. Not going to be a good night, to top off my horrible day. I went to the orthodontists this morning, (Kathy I hope you never went through this). The lady working on my braces pushed so hard she broke off my 7 bracket (wayyy in the back) and punched the wire into my cheek, and my mouth was bleeding about 3 times during that visit. Mom said I about jumped out of my seat twice. I have only cried at the orthodontist's 2 times, one because of my day-after-powerchain-visit, and this time. It was horrible :(

Bob and his lights, it's pretty funny to be the only one's there with decorations. It's entertaining because Cory, the goat next to us, jumps all around and climbs all around the bars on his pen, and when I turn them on, he just turns his head to the side and just stttttttttareees!!! It's so funny. He's like mesmerized by them!
