Mexico seeks greater ties with Iran mullahs
Mexico is ready for expanding ties with Iran on all areas, notably in economy and trade, the deputy of Mexico's foreign ministry for economic affairs, Irma Avriana said on Friday.
Speaking to the grand seminar on Irano-Mexican economic relations, Avriana said Iran was an important power in the Middle East and" we believe expanding ties with Iran will be in the intersts of every country including Mexcio".
Also addressing the audience, the head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Alinaghi Khamoushi said Iran enjoyed an economic growth rate of 6.5, adding his chamber tried to strenghten trade bewteen the two countries.
Islam is blood cult... and is marked by the evil.....
I loved that movie! I saw it when it was first released, I was 22, and thought how absolutely IMPOSSIBLE the premise was. Now, it scares me because I realize how vulnerable we are. We have to stand strong, PEACE thru Strength! Thank God for George W. Bush. Prayers!
wow, this behavior always baffles me at FR.
here we have a story of how Mexico wants to inrease ties with Iran (which, I agree, is the wrong move right now) -- and yet what people don't understand is that this move is probably being pushed by few in the government that ALREADY represents very VERY few in the country.
I can guarantee that the majority of the people in Mexico probably have no clue about these ongoing politics, or quite frankly, don't care because, in all reality, it doesn't affect them (as of now).
Still, some people want to resort to their culture bashing and what not due to their lack of the ability to ACTUALLY manage to say something meaningful regarding this topic...and as a mexican-american, i AM offended.
#1 - this isn't intended for you, haha, just happened to click on your reply button, good post though.
If Iran nukes Israel, I will guarantee to you that the response from Israel will mean the end of most middle Eastern capitals, not just Iran. The Saudis and Syrians would try to capitalize on Israels plight. Can you say WW4?
Their ties with China aren't good either.
Mexico is not our friend.
The plotline of the movie may be unlikely, but the underlying idea is not.
The US has been safe from invasion only because we do not have a hostile neighbor with a military comparable to ours. But if a hostile foreign military power established a strong foothold in South America, then we're in deep trouble.
That's the rationale for the Monroe Doctrine of the early 1800's: to prevent European powers from establishing footholds close enough to us to be able to threaten us. This is why the US invested so much effort under Reagan to contain the Nicaraguan communists, and stop the Russians from getting basing there. That's why we're so much against Cuba.
But now, we're getting more and more Chinese influence in Central America. A troubling sign would be for large numbers of military-age Chinese men to start working on projects in Mexico.
If we just sealed the border against illegals, and deported every illegal, we would collapse Mexico's economy and society within a week
Iran seems to be the fulcrum in which to lever the US witness the actions of Mexico and China. I'll bet Bush tries to give away the border to Fox in order to change his mind.
I've been uneasy about Mexico for some time. I'd like to see Fox out of there, but does anyone know if anyone stands in the wings who would do any better?
A reputable poll in Mexico in 2000 showed:
When asked about the most desirable political system,
only 25 percent prefer democracy as a matter of principle.
25 percent prefer an authoritarian system, and 50 percent support whatever works.
This is a hostile government, no less so under Fox, the "reformer." Nor does most of its population consist of good neighbors. GWB needs to wake up and smell the coffee. He has taken a sentimental approach toward this country for too long.
Anybody wanna tell me AGAIN that I am racist because I want the borders locked down tighter than a a frog's butt and those who are supportive of mexico and our invaders exposed and excoriated? It is good to know that our "good neighbors to the south" and their sycophants, including our el presidente, are going to (in effect) pave the roads for "our good friends in the middle east" from Iran.
I smell blackmail!
I was wondering about that, since Islam recruits in prisons and seems to recruit those who, shall we say, are "easily lead" (ie, incapable of thinking for themselves--natural born Democrats, in other words).
"the majority of the people in Mexico probably have no clue"
Well, perhaps they ought to get one?
The question is, do you give a crap that these fuzzy-brained liberal-lites think you're a racist?
Consider the source.
Because of their warm bodies here that vote and may vote; seal the effing border!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always suspected it was someone or other's revenge for the anti-Reagan schlock The Day After--when it first showed on network TV I was tempted to run around outside of living room windows of people viewing the film, and set off a flashbulb. ;-)
[Full Disclosure: GO WOLVERINES!]
The question is what the hell is wrong with Bush in keeping this charade going with the Mexicans.
Mexico voted against us in the UN security council. They are not our friends. But the bussiness guys need cheap workers...so its all forgotten. No different than with Red China.
