A Chicago man has launched a website to mobilize millions of Americans to consign the American Civil Liberties Union to the "ash heap of history."
The ACLU, says the website StopThe ACLU.org, is "relentlessly and fiercely assaulting America's foundations by feverishly working through activist court systems to impose same-sex marriage and remove all vestiges of the Ten Commandments wherever they may be posted."
Nedd Kareiva says his two main goals are to send 1 million letters to the ACLU's headquarters in New York and to coordinate a march of 1 million Americans at each ACLU office in the nation.

I agree: the ACLU needs to be stopped. But letters and marches will do nothing. (Sorry to rain on the parade.)
Even if you were to flood their mail boxes with ten million letters and mobilize hundreds of "million-man marches", what do you think that will accomplish? Do you expect the ACLU activists to simply say, "Gee, we must be wrong. I guess we'll just close our offices and quit."?
Witness the aftermath of the last election: 59 million people voted for President Bush, voted for Republican congressional representatives, and voted to ban homosexual "marriage." Yet, did the Left get the message? Have they finally realized that they are on the wrong side of the issues? No. They arrogantly proclaimed that all those 59 million Americans are simply stupid yokels, and that if only the residents of "fly-over" America were as "enlightened" as the big city intellectuals, then the Democrats would have won.
Yes, it's time to shut down the ACLU. But don't expect them to go willingly just because we ask them to. The only way I see an end to the ACLU is if the Federal Government prosecutes them for aiding and facilitating terrorist and criminal activities (i.e., their associations with Al Qaeda and NAMBLA). Unfortunately, this will not happen anytime in the foreseeable future, particularly with Bush appointing Alberto Gonzales as the new Attorney General.
Actually, destroying America (as we know it) is their ultimate goal.
Think of this like a war, where the strategic goal of the Left is the total conquest and domination of America: to change us from the world's guiding beacon of Liberty and free enterprise, into another socialist third-world wasteland under the global rule of UN Marxist dictators.
In every campaign, there are tactical battles which are necessary to ensure strategic victory. Shutting down the (Christian) churches is one of those battles for the Left. Breaking down traditional families is another (and the Left has already made great strides in this area).
Making noise is the first step. If we continue to sit on our backsides and hope the Federal Government will do something...we are handing our First Amendment Rights over to someone else to tell us how to exercise them.
Let us not forget the effectiveness of protests as demonstrated by the change in regulations, court rulings, etc. that have not been to the benefit of the United States.
The ACLU is the most dangerous enemy within our country...They are more concerned with terrorist's rights than your's or mine to simply live......
Yes, the ACLU and the UN go hand in hand -- and both organizations are working to destroy America. Which is why I say:

About time.
Historically, most religious abuses come from the government sanctioning a particular religion. Adherents of that religion feel they have a "mandate" to minimize all public signs of other religions.
Muslim kids are allowed to have prayer 6 times a day in school... but lord forbid you let the Christians pray ONCE before the school day starts.
Okay, this isn't quite accurate. Christians can pray 24/7 if we want. We just can't stand up in the middle of class and do it out loud. The Bible doesn't require us to pray in groups at school. In the case of Muslims, the Quran requires rote prayer at specific times of the day. If a school system denies a Muslim child a place to pray in private, they are abridging his/her free exercise of Islam. There is a big difference between the religious requirements of a Christian child and a Muslim child.
Another attack that has bugged me was the push for anti-Christian artwork (virgin Mary covered in excrement). This was called art and defended... but imagine a jewish Menorah covered in excrement (Menorah of manure?)... would they defend it as artwork or brand it as anti-semantic?
There is no push for anti-Christian artwork. What you've seen is a defense of the free speech of dingbats who feel the need to produce that "art". I can guarantee you the ACLU would come down right in your corner if you decided to exibit a painting of Muhammad sodomizing his brother. When the left decides it's time to start attacking Islam or other religions using art, they will find the ACLU standing by, ready to defend them.
I agree in part, but it's important to aim that "noise" in the right direction. Asking the ACLU to stop via a letter campaign and marches will have no more effect than "peace talks" with Islamic Jihadists will stop their terrorists activities.
Directing those letters instead to the White House may be more effective, but I doubt it. President Bush has already signaled that he is ignoring the conservative mandate of the last election.
Perhaps the best option for us right now is to build an NRA-type organization to counter the ACLU (although, let's not have the type of compromises the NRA is infamous for). This organization could serve five functions:
1. Provide paid conservative constitutional lawyers to defendants (like the Boy Scouts) being attacked by the ACLU.
2. Lobby the government to ensure that non-activist judges are confirmed, and that activist judges are rejected.
3. Provide watchdog services by monitoring and publishing the ACLU's activities.
4. Provide a judicial rating system so that voters know which judges are activist (remember that all these judges start out at the local level where they are elected by the people). Even after they are elected, we need a system that tracks and rates activist judges and tells us who they are, where they serve, who appointed them, and what they are doing (in terms of their rulings). Basically, we need to "out" all activist judges so that they are no longer working in the shadows.
5. Mount informational advertising campaigns to educate the general population about the activities and dangers of the ACLU and the activist courts. Most people, particularly the young graduates of our public schools, believe that the ACLU is a benevolent American institution fighting for Constitutional rights. We must counter their propaganda with the truth.
PING to your list, please.
ACLU defending the criminal. Ever since then, I notice they are involved in most of these kind of stories. They are a huge cancer. Another George Soros SOCIALIST LEFT WING backed org, that needs to be defeated. COUNT ME IN!!!

Saying that this election was about moral values means, to me, that this election was about stupid, liberal, activist judges (hello, Mass. Supreme Court) that are legislating from the bench. And their partners in crime, the ACLU.
Isn't it interesting that the ACLU (Arabic Communist Luciferian Underbelly) makes no objection whatsoever regarding the public schools where Muzzle-em prayer and "Let's Pretend We Are Muzzle-em" activities are now forced upon all the children???
The ACLU is an evil, scum-sucking, treacherous enemy of the U.S.A. !!!
This is more in line with my thoughts too!
My letter is going out TODAY...
"This site exists for one purpose - to mobilize millions of God fearing patriotic Americans to stand up to the ACLU agenda and consigning it to the ash heap of history (or export it to Communist regions)."
FEISTY! I'm in.
