"Oh man...ba-DOOMBOOM!"
I was later reminded that Barney Franks is another politician elected with a man-date.
I guess I should have said: McGreevy is the only governor elected with a man-date. :)

States giving Bush the most votes:
California, followed by Texas then Florida.

I call it a stunning success because after the dismal voter turnout of 1996 and 2000, I was wondering if the Mainstream even had the strength left to fight for this country against the enemy within, or just take the pasth of least resistance and bow to what appeared to be inevitable.
I believe voter turnout wouldn't have BEEN this high if not for the memory of President Reagan. I don't mean because he passed away. The same thing would have happened if he were still alive. It's the memory of what life was like during his presidency that helped energize voters to bring in the man best suited to fight the war on terrorism, just as we once voted in the only man capable of ending the Cold War before it.
In a real way, we're still riding the wave of the Reagan legacy.

Do you know the total Ohio votes for Kerry, and the total registered voters in Ohio? Yesterday someone was explaining the Bush win in Ohio this way: The majority of black Ohio residents were unable to vote because they were either in prison or felons, and couldn't vote, and that's why Ohio went to Bush. Can you believe the logic?!

Can't tell you now painful it is to see Wisconsin in blueUnderstood.
What a pretty map it would have made if those four lake states had gone red.
There's absolutely NO reason for them to be blue. They're not left coast perverts and they're not east coast yankee libs.
Doesn't make sense.

One truly amazing stat is that Pres. Bush received one million more votes in FL than he did in 2000--a 36% increase in four years!! Gov. Jeb and Chairman Ralph Reed did outstanding jobs in getting out the vote. And they had the help of over 109,000 volunteers in 2004 who worked very hard to give the President a decisive victory!

I'd like to see (when it is finally achieved) the FINAL count/percentage vs. the morning-after-election count/percentage. It would be an interesting glimpse into the level of absentee/other ballots being cast.

There are some really sick people walking among us.

BTW: That map needs to be updated. For one that blue county on California's Eastern border (Mono County) has since flipped over to Bush.

When can we start calling democrats in the blue areas "insurgents"? Well,Dennis Miller came close, when he said in a 2002 monologue that when Senators say "my good friend", they really mean "that pri*k across the hall"...
