A statewide recount of the presidential vote appears inevitable after a pair of third-party candidates said they have collected enough money to pay for it.
The recount would be conducted after the election results are certified in early December.
Libertarian Michael Badnarik and the Green Party's David Cobb said on Monday they raised more than $150,000 in four days, mostly in small contributions.
Ohio law requires payment of $10 per precinct for a recount, or $113,600 statewide.
Badnarik and Cobb said they aren't trying to overturn President Bush's 136,000-vote victory in Ohio, but just want to ensure that all votes were counted properly in the face of concerns about Election Day irregularities.

Well no. Yes, if Ohio's slate *switches* to Kerry that gives him 272. But remember, they're doing this recount *after* the certification. I was wondering what the aim could be, and someone responded to me saying maybe they just want to taint Bush's Ohio slate. So, we were discussing what if the Ohio slate just became "tainted" & was thrown out altogether as a result. It wouldn't switch to Kerry, it would be a contested slate (I think?). The result would be 266-252, thus the President would be decided by the House (I think?).
As you can see, I'm no huge expert, that's why I asked my original question :-) Best,
Correct, Georgie Soreass is behind this, he may be in Europe, but remember in the movie the Saint Valentine's day massacre, the killings took place in Chicago, and Capone was in Miami. Neither one of them did their own dirty work, after becoming successful.
Does Zogby show Kerry winning the recount?
The following is a partial e-mail from The American Consevative Union (ACU)
Dear Friend of ACU:
Billionaire Socialist George Soros and Moveon.org are actually trying to sabotage the 2004 Presidential Election -- after the fact!
And People For The American Way (PFAW), Common Cause and six ultra-liberal members of Congress -- led by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) -- have jumped on the Soros/Moveon.org bandwagon.
These organizations have already generated hundreds of thousands of letters to Congress requesting a General Accounting Office investigation of the vote in Florida, Ohio and New Mexico.
The intent is clear. Following the example of third world Banana Republics, these leftists simply cannot accept the fact that George Bush won the election fair and square and are determined to steal it after the fact.
Can they succeed? I don't know -- but they will continue to do grave damage to this country in the process if we do not take a stand to nip this movement in the bud right now!
Use the hyperlink below to send your Blast Fax message to the Leadership of the House and Senate. Tell them that six Members of Congress, at the urging of ultra left-wing organizations, are seeking to hijack the election after the fact. Tell them that irreparable harm will be done to the country if this ludicrous movement is allowed to proceed. Tell them that Congress should pass a resolution reaffirming the results of the election and censure the six Members who have placed petty politics above the best interests of this country.
Easy with the kitten analogy, I much rather have two Libs.in a room blindfolded, and each Lib. has a hand bound to the other Libs. hand, and there is a knife hidden in the room, and being told that the finder has to stab and kill the other one, and the winner will be set free. Hey, I think I just came up with a new idea for another reality show, it could be a combination of Survivor/Fear Factor. What do you think?
Well, that's knews.
They should have left the chads alone, and hung Al Gore.
"...investigation of vote fraud and count fraud in Detroit..."
...YES...and in Milwaukee...and in Philadelphia...
Yeah, WHO gave the money?!!
Posting to yourself, is a sure way to receive favorable replies.
Kerry knows that he lost, know how to tell? look at the long face. ..............sorry, couldn't resist.
Honestly, guys -- we won, RIGHT? So Bush should win the recount as well. I almost think this is a good thing, because it takes away all the crap I've been hearing from Dims about how "Kerry really won Ohioblahblahblah." So let them have their recount and then SHUT THE **** UP. This way, for the next four years we won't have to listen to how Kerry actually won the electionblahblahblah.
You doubt that soros would spend on a lost cause?
Did you know that he said that he would use his entire fortune to beat Bush, that is why I also believe that he is financing most of the shenanigans perpetrated by the leftist $cumbags.
Just enjoy watching the hard core crazies at DU get all excited about the possibility of Kerry winning after all. This just means we get to watch them get their unrealistic hopes crushed once again. And we didn't even have to wait 4 more years to see them cry again.
Not yet, But Zogby was "Scooped" by diver Dan Rather, who claims to have the documentation proving anything detrimental to Bush.
No, it was in the 70% range.
In 2000, there were about 101 million votes for President. In 2004, it's 117 million and still rising.
Now, in 4 years, there's about a 4% increase in total population. That gets you to 105 million. Plus about 3 million GOTV Republican and 2 million Demonrat. Plus Bush got about 2 million votes from the Dems. So, honest count:
R: 50 + .5 * 4 + 3 + 2 = 57 million
D: 51 + .5 * 4 + 2 - 2 = 53 million
There's something very fishy about the totals, although the margin is about right.
In Ohio, Nader was not on the ballot, and yet the official count for Cobb (Green) is about 35. Bull. He got more than that in Columbus alone. Badnarik is listed as having about 50-100 votes per small county. Except Medina, where the official number is - zero. I could find people whose votes were *certainly* stolen.
In Nashua, New Hampshire, the population was up by about 1% 2000-2004. Yet the vote total was up 39%! Explanation: look at a map. Nashua, NH is on the Massachusetts border, and many *thousands* of Kerry voters crossed over into New Hampshire 2 Nov to do a same-day registration and vote. Bush lost New Hampshire by about 10,000. Someone could also check the New Hampshire towns bordering Vermont for similar data.
Note that Badnarik has also asked for a recount in New Hampshire. I don't think Cobb has followed there.
Why...so Badnarik's votes can go from 3 to 1?
You'd think that after Florida 2000, they would see this as a futile waste of time. If Gore couldn't overcome 1700 votes via endless recounts in selected counties, how in the heck can Kerry overcome 130k? Not gonna happen, and everyone except the die hard tin-foil hat crowd knows it. Of course, I'd much rather they keep focusing on this, so they really don't get to the root cause of the problems with the democratic party. Look back at where we are today vs 35 years ago. There has been a major shift to republican/conversative leadership in this country. Almost at no level in government have the dems picked up strength during those 35 years. History books a 100 years from now, will show just how massive a shift it was. And it looks like it is going to continue.
