I made the mistake of listening to Savage again last night, and he AGAIN blasted Rush Limbaugh, calling his show really boring, calling him a fat loudmouth, "Mr. Gulfstream", saying no one wanted to hear Limbaugh talk about the election anymore...
He said a few more things, but the exact verbiage escapes me.
He also said numerous times that he will not discuss politics anymore, then quickly goes into it. He also took yet another series of swipes at President Bush and Arnold S.
He claims that Arnold has a big ego, is a disgrace, and has done NOTHING for California. He also says that his approval rating is disastrous, not nearly as high as the polls.
This guy, Michael Weiner, er Savage, is the disgrace. He's a bi-polar nut-job, who has the biggest ego this side of O'Reilly.
What a jackass.
Listening to Savage is like listening to one of my old Chiefs after the lithium wore off. Who cares what he thinks?
I have heard Savage only a couple times and I simply cannot take him. What a rude, obnoxious boor. Clearly a legend in his own mind IMO.
I called it back in May, when I rated Savage Poor http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1130130/posts
Savage is a ranting racist and lunatic who's just envious of Rush. I stopped listening to this loud mouth years ago. Sure his message on the assault of our "culture, language, and border" does ring some truth, but his brand of intolerance is just insulting. I'm glad MSNBC canned his ar$e.
It was meant to be sarcastic. And about as brilliant as posting this nonsense in the first place.
Bingo!
Yes he was definitely talking about Rush (based on comments about cigars, the Gulf Stream, and a few other things).
I like Savage, but mostly I find him entertaining. I work when Rush is on, so I almost never listen to him, but Savage is in my local area and I got hooked listening to him on my ride home when he just a local guy.
If he gets real bad, I just pop in a CD.
Savage has on many occasions given credit to Rush for his opening the door in talk radio. I think Savage is different and funny. I am listening to Rush right now and I enjoy his show, but he does often sound like he just got the RNC talking points.
Savage can bore me for hours sometimes, like when he talks about the Sopranos. BUT, when he really gets off on a left-wing caller, it's better than any comedy skit I've ever seen. I also think Savage has taken on some of the serious issues of our time and has not gone soft trying to tell us what he thinks.
I used to like Savage a lot (Still do, sometimes, but have to be in the mood).
I never heard him maul Rush. Yes. He is sort of bi-polar, because I remember Savage was in Rush's corner during his drug turbulance when the liberals were foaming at the mouth and exploiting his personal problem that he faced like a man, admitted to and got taken care of.
Savage was defending Rush tooth and nail.
What the hell is with this guy? He goes from one way to the other.
I like Savage, I like Rush, but the ONLY talk show host I know who is not a blowhard is Dennis Prager. Rush spends at least 40% of his airtime inflating himself. Savage 65%. Hannity 55%. O'Reilly 100%. Prager 5%. Ingram 15%. Beck 65%. These are, of course, rough estimates.
Savage is no deep thinker and his self-proclaimed knowledge of history is full of holes. Rush... even popped-up on OxyContin has insight that dwarfs anything that Savage could possibly muster.
I DO get a kick out of the stories about growing up in NYC.
Levin is really quite a talent. Just the right mix of information, commentary, entertainment, etc. He seems to hit all the right "emotional" notes - knowing when to be serious and when not to be. I can't wait to read his book, coming out next year.
Savage is OK, but he seems to talk about himself most of all. I don't really know what his politics are lately, since I don't listen. I think he got blindsided by his sudden fame and his head swelled too much, too fast.
Savage is a bi-polar nut-job......LOL........how accurate discription of these wind bags including O'Reilly!
Why can't we all get along?
By the way, I am in NY, so I have been tuning into the Great One (Mark Levin) ... he's really starting to gain himself. He isn't national, yet, but I have a feeling he will be soon. I find him both funnier and more intelligent than Savage. Also informative and for the most part, right more times.
Savage has zero info value but much entertainment value. Rush really ball washes something fierce at points but can drop a nugget of info once in a while. Howie Carr is the best.
He, though, can be fantastic.
Thanks for giving your take. One more question, when Savage wouldn't support Bush, saying time and again that there was NO difference between Kerry and Bush, for someone who has a listening audience of 10 million weekly, isn't that reckless behavior?
