Speaking in the aftermath of the presidential election, Democrat radio host Garrison Keillor says he is on a quest to take away the right of born-again Christians to vote, saying their citizenship is actually in heaven, not the United States.
Keillor, host of the popular National Public Radio show "A Prairie Home Companion," made the comments during a speech at Chicago's Rockefeller Memorial Chapel and during his radio monologue the Saturday after the election.

I guess he's probably not to fond of orthodox Jews who voted Republican either.
He has lost the mind he never had... Typical for a democrat.
As a Christian, I can say that Garrison I love you. This is because my Lord commanded me to love thy enemies. And there is no mistake that you are a spiritual enemy of me and all that is Divine that I serve. We have been informed that not only would we be hated by the world, but we would be objects of ridicule. The reason that I can love my enemies is that I have nothing to fear from them, they cannot stand between me and my eternal disposition. I can love my enemies if I know that they are in fact my enemies. My problem is with those less honest than Mr. Keillor who profess the Light and cling to the Darkness. Jesus was not betrayed by one who declared himself an enemy, but one who professed his love. Scripture tells us that the path that we must travel is straight and narrow, I can only pray that you get off the broad way and find this straight and narrow path.
Some of us listen to it for laughs. The same with Air America.
Garrison is about as close to Michael Moore as you can get.
"I am now the chairman of a national campaign to pass a constitutional amendment to take the right to vote away from blacks. [enthusiastic audience applause] Just a little project of mine. My feeling is that black people are citizens of Africa, that is where there citizenship is, [laughter] is in Africa, it's not here among us in America. ..."
With hundreds of responses they'll find out soon enough.
Keillor is my dyed-in-the-wool DemocRAT dad's favorite liberal writer/commentator/radio idiot. I sent him the WND article and he will dismiss it, because he is a LIBERAL.
It's easy to love folly in a child.
LOL!!! I love to read this stuff. This is better than SNL.
Good one.
Homely enough TOO!
I heard Keillor interviewed prior to the elelction...I used to like his show...he sounded so dumb and refused to state his position then, just kind of meandered. Haven't been able to listen to him since, I just lost respect, not because of his political position but cause he just sounded so dumb.
Darn! Dudes!
Lands End too?
First Burger King..just after I got hooked on their Angus Burgers....
Today..the Lands End catalogue arrives and now its bye-bye to them too.
I'm going to write to Klondike tonite to make sure they don't sponsor anyone stupid so I won't be able to buy my Klondike bars!
I find that prayer and living my faith for them to see is the best way. When it comes to friends especially, because Jesus said "a prophet is not a prophet in his own country"...in reference to fact even Jesus could not do too much in Nazareth, his home town-although born in Bethlehem.
I think with strangers we can speak truth and encourage them, but with people who KNOW US from childhood, through sin years or as regular family members, living it and praying for them does the most.
More like
two peas in
split pea soup
. . .
and that after digestion and excretion.
"Welllllll, Keillor. . . .
given that our citizenship IS in Heaven . . .
Let me talk to my Daddy about your rebellious idiocies and we'll see if we can't come up with a reparenting program for you. Perhaps we can get you out of diapers sooner than anyone would imagine. Of course, the discipline is apt to be very tough. Not something you're likely to enjoy or crack jokes about. But, hey--perhaps eventually, you, too could see the wisdom in choosing Heaven over other alternatives. It's clear that your choices haven't risen to that level so far."
I loved the one about 40 Lutheran ministers on 46' of pontoon boat in earth tones and hush puppies . . .
>>What are you doing listening to NPR in the first place?
Believe it or not, there are some redeeming aspects of NPR and public television...
Not very much, but there are a few good things out there.
Actually everyone has dual citizenship - even those who don't know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. It'll be in a lot different location however.
I agree, It is getting more difficult to make purchases based on principles!
Movies alone have been terrible to rent, every movie I want to see has one of my "boycotted actors" in it.
And now, this with Land's End. No great sheets, and no "tailored for shorty pants".
I think I will follow suit and write to those Companies whose products I DO like, just to make sure they don't go bonkers on me as well.
