I'm guessing the tears may have been for the proper verdict of this scumbag.

I hardly watch Court TV so didn't get the connection. Thanks, WestCoastGal!

I think I heard that he was out of town and not going to be able to be present when the verdict was read.

But it's been over 2 hours since the verdict came in and no sign of MG ???

We had a case here years ago when a man was convicted of first degree murder. The circumstantial evidence was so over powering that even though no body has ever been discovered, he was convicted. The facts: he had made an appointment to meet a realty saleslady to view a home...she was the mother of one of my students. He also worked as a backhoe operator on a large construction site. She disappeared, he was arrested, tried and convicted. It was believed that her body had been buried somewhere in that vast area, but it was never recovered.

I <<< would not want to face this kind of "justice".

Thank God you weren't on the jury!

I figure when we do hear from him he will speak about filing an appeal. Not that it will do any good though. If he is in court elsewhere he may have to wait before he can address this guilty verdict.

pile junk in your baby boys room

That floored me when I heard it. My husband died suddenly in his early 40s. It took some time before I was mentally ready to donate my husband's clothes to charity. It took more than a year to sleep on 'his' side of the bed. My son wore his father's shirts and eventually grew into and wore his coats (we're talking years after his father died).

How someone could turn their child's room into a junk room - especially before the mother had been found dead, but even afterward - is beyond me. If we couldn't do simple things like give away clothes or sleep on an unused side of the bed, how does this guy essentially blot out the existence of his wife and coming child almost overnight?

Where did Geragos get his reputation as a defense attorney? He loses this case, lost the Winona Ryder case, and couldn't keep Susan McDougal out of jail, either. I don't get it.

He's a legend in his own mind.

He's a creep as far as cheating on his wife and lying to her, but that doesn't make him a murderer.

She's dead and so is the baby she was carrying and he killed them. That's what makes him a murderer.

People at DU are already worried that the murder of "Baby Conner" will be used to overturn Roe Vs Wayde. Can you believe that shit?

This is why the dims are losing big time. All they care about is legalized infanticide, abnormal sexual acts, and confiscating everyone's wealth.

Bear in mind he told the police of where he was right from the start

Acually, that was one of THREE stories he told.

It's harder to find a body than you would think.

Plenty of murderers have been convicted with no corpus delicti.

Bodies sometimes turn up years and years after the murderer was convicted and executed. There was a case around here a few years ago - body of a kidnap victim finally turned up after something like 50 years - the murderer was long since fried, but physical evidence with the body confirmed that the conviction was correct . . .

Geragos won't be back. Geragos sucked Peterson's family dry.

And didn't even have the decency to show up for his client's sentencing -- to first degree murder! What a scumbag.

you're being naive - and not to worry about getting Scott's justice as long as you don't murder your wife/expectant baby while being sociopathic liar who thinks he's "better and smarter" than everyone else.....

He's a legend in his own mind.

More common than you'd think. The media judges attorneys by a completely different standard than us lawyer folk. The ones that are lionized by the media are pretty much uniformly despised as grandstanders and showboaters by the guys in the trenches.

Something my dad told me at the time of the Patty Hearst trial has always stuck with me. (He is retired now but he had 50 years in the courtroom, and he was a better lawyer than I will ever be.) Anyhow, he said that her family made a huge mistake hiring Flea Bailey, another one of those media-beloved lawyers. He said what her father should have done is gone down to the courthouse and asked the courthouse rats who they would recommend as the best defense attorney in the county. Usually you can ask 15 or 20 of them, and they will recommend the same 2 or 3 guys. And those guys are the unsung, hard-working, competent, seasoned defense attorneys who work with those judges day in and day out. They know their jurisdiction's law, they know their county's juries, and they get the job done.

Dad said if one of those "courthouse rats" had defended Patty Hearst, she never would have seen a day in prison and might have walked away with an acquittal.
