Kerry run in '08 called conceivable
Boston Globe ^ | 11/09/04 | Glen Johnson

While Senator John F. Kerry is "profoundly disappointed" with losing his presidential race last week, it is "conceivable" he will run again in four years, his brother and political confidant, Cameron F. Kerry, said yesterday.

[snip]

Former aides said they have received conflicting answers about whether he might wage another campaign. One, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Kerry told a top campaign official he could not envision another run. Yet that same adviser attended a farewell party for Kerry's staff Saturday night in Washington and said Kerry told the crowd, "There's always another four years."

[snip]

Such a run could pose a dilemma for Kerry: His Senate seat is up for reelection in 2008, and talk of a presidential campaign could spur challengers from both parties and force him to decide whether to seek reelection or run for the White House. He also would undoubtedly face Democratic challengers for the presidential nomination, including possibly Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and his recent running mate, Senator John Edwards of North Carolina.

[snip]

The former aide said Kerry plans to work closely with Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, who is expected to replace Tom Daschle as Senate Democratic leader, to form the "loyal opposition" to Bush. He also plans to revamp his staff and meet this week with Senate and former campaign aides to plot strategy for his political reemergence.

Received conflicting answers? From Kerry? Nawwwww....surely you jest.

[Kerry's Presidential aspirations, for all intents and purposes, are over. He may run in '08, but he won't get through the Primaries. His problem this round was both the message and the messenger, and that won't change by '08.]

The guy is SO unappealing...

If they have any brains they won't run him... AND we all know that they REALLY want Hitlery.

But i'm not sure that asocial moron isn't above TRYING to throw his hat in the ring, though..

If he does, hopefully somebody will tell him to sit down and shut up before he hurts himself.

I'm with you. A kerry campaign in the primaries against the wicked witch of new york would be a war of attrition for them both. I'd love to see the clinton attack machine against the kerry attack machine, but they're one and the same. But, I'll bet we'd see kerry's military records released in totality...including "evidence" that they were altered and phony. Delicious!!!!

Hillary didn't entrench 'her' people into the Kerry campaign the last month for Kerry's benefit. No, they are there to make sure the Clintons are still in control. Kerry may have been the candidate, but like Gore in 2000, neither of them control the party; the Clintons still do.

I don't think Bubba's got the guts to do in Hillary...

HOWEVER, if I were Bill, I'd be having a taster for my food, and i'd get my brakes checked regularly...

Kerry/Gore in 08. Now that'd be a winner. Not.

F&F is saying that kerry has kept his "money people" in place, in hopes of another run.

LOL, last hour, Chris LaPetina (sp?) basically threw LOTS of cold water on the thought of another kerry run. When rabid RATS like him diss the idea so quickly, kerry is yesterday's trash.

"run again in four years" -- the only running he'll be doing is running around the streets of Aspen and other resorts looking for another woman with cash, after Teraaaaayza has thrown out his scrawny a**!

Things Kerry will need for a new presidential campaign:

1. New personality

2. New personal history (if the American electorate hears "Vietnam" again as a campaign issue we're gonna scream like Howard Dean)

3. New ideas, heck, just IDEAS!

4. Long term larengytis to affect his wife

5. A spine

6. New home state (this one's tough, when you're serving in elective office)

If he can get ahold of these, he might just have a chance.

He will decide not to run after he decides to run.

It will be based on Hillary's "I told you I was the only one who could win" and of course, blackmail...her forte.

When he finally turns back up in the Senate, will he face the President of the Senate, come to attention, salute and say "Reporting for Duty?" Will the President of the Senate say, "Welcome back, Senator Kerry. I'll call a page to show you where your office is. It's a bit dusty so you may want to have it cleaned before you come back to 'work.'"

Someone should tell Senator Kerry and his supporters that the election is over and they lost.
