Not all of us in the Blue States are Blue

Posted on 11/08/2004 2:52:36 PM PST by California Red

I'm a first time poster here from one of the most liberal communities in California. I wanted to thank you all for perhaps unknowingly keeping at least this conservative from insanity over the last year or so and to remind you that even in the blue counties in the blue states, at least 25% of us are celebrating the re-ascention of Bush to the White House.

I've been the target of so much hate in my own community that I turned to reading your supportive site in lieu of my own local forum. I know these radical liberals that are now degrading those who live between the coasts and believe me, they are NOT what they profess to be. They are the most intolerant, bigoted, self-centered and self-righteous people in America. I know, because I live with them.

I'm in a red precinct in Cook County, Illinois, home of Chicago and the dead voting Democrat. Nice to hear that all of weathered through.

Happy to say I live in a Red county...and work in a different Red county. But lived on the "other coast" for 9 years. REALLY glad to be back.

You deserve much sympathy from fellow freepers.

Cool screen name. Plot your escape to one of the red counties and help them with digging the moat.

First, welcome to FR.

Second, thanks for being a conservative in a hostile environment and for voting even though it didn't help to elect Bush. I think the popular vote increase this year was also due to the fact that 4 years ago, the Dems kept whooping about how Bush lost the popular vote -- people understood that "yes" your vote does count, even if you're in a safe, or very un-safe state. Thanks!

red man in a blue state...

The left is trying to claim these Blue state entirely, so as to claim the educated middle/upper middle class.

In reality these states went blue because of the lefty intellectual, minority and inner city vote.

What I do not understand is what happened to Contra Costa, the former "Orange County of the Bay Area." My former home went 60-40 for Kerry over Bush !

I now plan on retiring in SLO County.

I live in IL where all but like 5 counties voted for Bush, and two were in Chicago! My county has too many poor minorities and union members to go red, but it's still close thanks to us farmers!

Good Point. I was looking at that earlier today. Houston seems to be the only large city that was actually red.

Here in King County in the Soviet of Washington, those of us who are not colored blue keep a low profile. Secret police, ya' know.

Welcome! I've been lurking on freep for years, being a 'red' in a blue county.

Reality is I am a TRUE BLUE in a COMMIE RED County. I don't know how they got away with switching the colors on us, but it makes me mad to be called red.
