What I do not understand is what happened to Contra Costa, the former "Orange County of the Bay Area." My former home went 60-40 for Kerry over Bush !

I now plan on retiring in SLO County.

I live in Contra Costa and a lot of us worked many hours to get as many votes as we could. It didn't turn out as good as we had planned, but a lot of good people are here.

I'm guessing Contra Costa went "blue" because many of the residents there commute to San Francisco and are the typical ultra-left wing radicals. I'm in Yolo county - by and large a farming community but heavily populated by a University (UC Davis) culture. I am one of the few on campus smiling...(read BIG smile). I am not rubbing it in - I'm letting them anguish in their own "coffee communities" and discussion groups. The folks around here a too removed from reality to have any meaningful discussion. They are "educated"....(sarcasm!).

Hey Ya! Dropping a line from behind enemy lines here in the Peoples Republic of Hollywierd, Ca.

Can't think of a better time to live in LA after that Texas A** Whoopin! I'm still answering my telephone "4 More Years Incorporated."! And then of course my home answering service says... "Good afternoon, you've reached the John Kerry Lawn Sign Removal Co. can I have your pick up address..."

Bwahahahaaaa!
