Sen. Tom Daschle made a final pass before tearful supporters Wednesday, thanking them for their help in his unsuccessful re-election campaign and telling them their work is not finished.
"This is a difficult morning, and I don't want anybody in this room to feel angry or sad, because all of those challenges that motivated us to do what we wanted to do in elective office are still out there," Daschle told 300 people at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

"BUH-BYE"
...as a greeter at Wal*Mart in Souix Falls.
Treaty "obligations"? What the heck does this mean? Is Tommy trying to bribe the "tribes" again?
STFU and let the door knob smack your butt as you slither away you vile/evil gnome.
OK, OK Tom. The U-Haul is on it's way...get packing.
Hope remains that Daschle will return to his state of origin and work there to improve things after his cushy job in DC? After the hobnobbing and lucrative money brought in by his lobbyist wife and his late, disgusting senate career? ROFLMAO!!!
Let the door slap him wherever.
We just want him out of our life.
Thanks to the voters of SD for giving us this present!
This is by far the second most joyful result of this year's election. W's re-election was number one, of course, but the unseating of Dasshole brings such a visceral joy... I am deeply gladdened.
You know, it's almost too good to be true. Am I dreaming? First, Little Dick Gephardt drops his minority leadership to run his pathetic campaign; and now Puff Daschle is out. No Gephardt. No Daschle. They're gone! Oh man. If I'm dreaming, may I never wake!
"Picking up dead dogs off the side the road," as my high school Algebra teacher told those who did not study for their Algebra test.
Now we will see if the compassionate liberals can be compassionate with their own time and money,or if their compassion is limited to how they spend other peoples' time and money.
"...indications that his career in public service might not be over..."
Now his real public service can begin,Tom Daschle, unpaid volunteer for the huddled masses.
"Only 10 hours earlier outside the same ballroom, McGovern had called Daschle "probably the most influential senator South Dakota's had in Washington or ever will have."
*snort*
It hurts, said Carolyn Downs, director of the Banquet, a Sioux Falls soup kitchen that Daschle often visited to greet the needy.
That pretty much sums it up. Tommy Boy wasn't interested in helping the needy, he only wanted to greet them. In other words, it wasn't what he could do for the needy but what the needy could do for him.
And that's the last South Dakota will ever see of Tom Dashle ever again. They will keep their mansion in DC and he will become a high paid lobbiest for some dem cause.
"Jessica Glenn, 26, a research assistant for Daschle from 2000 to 2002 and now a graduate student in New York City, was in South Dakota the past 10 days as a campaign volunteer. 'There's a good chance he'll come back to the state and work in health care and education and all the things he cares about,' she said."
Me thinks fair Jessica has drunk too much from the Kool-Aid! The chances of this phony ever stepping foot in South Dakota again for anything other than a family reunion are less than slim-to-none!
I, for one, am not deeply saddened.
So long, farewell,
auf Wiedersehen, adieu.
Adieu, adieu,
...to yieu and yieu and yieu.
Goodbye,
...goodbye,
...GOODBYE!
