i've never even heard of any parent with the attitude he describes. What a fringe type!
Be fruitful and multiply! Do your bit to carry on the human race. The frightening thing is that I know a lot of liberals who have this attitude -- they don't particularly care if they have a family or not and would rather just go on with their "sex in the city" promiscuous lives without a care or responsibility.
As somebody who was raised in an abusive household, I personally feel that people who don't want children should not have them.
But that entails personal responsability and paying attention to details, and most people are too stupid.
The director of a crisis pregnancy center told me that he's never spoken to woman who changed her mind about abortion and regretted having her baby, but he's seen countless women devasted by abortion.
He probably got brutally rejected so many times that he's given up, and is just trying to make an excuse. That, and his immense selfishness overrides all else in his life.
The only people who are happy being alone are the ones who need to be unhappy in order to be happy.
The most interesting aspect of his musings is the omission that had his parents followed his advice he would not be here to criticize them and experience the rapture of being childless.
You really don't have to use much imagination to wonder what kind of child this guy was.
Three children and twenty-five years later, my husband and I would not change a thing. We have the most wonderful life and we could never imagine not having our children.
We live in Santa Barbara County and we know many people our age who do not have children. We feel so bad for them. They have no idea what joy they missed.
I wonder how many women this guy knocked up and didn't mind them having abortions?

As for myself, my little girl had a stomach virus last week and threw up all over me. I stayed up with her most of the night and went to work on almost no sleep.
And I wouldn't trade those five sleepless hours with my little girl in my arms for all the gold in Ft. Knox.
I think alot of people feel this way and I do think that some people who have children shouldn't have children and that many have children for the absolute wrong reasons.
Not me!. I have a kid and I don't regret it at all. AND I want more. I was married and I regretted it. Not because I don't like to be married, but the guy is a jerk. I would remarry again.

I walked into by home after work yesterday, and was treated like a hero by two small children. The author walked into his house after work yesterday.
