Hey, Texas has no income tax, so if the rest of the country became part of Texas...DE FACTO elimination of the income tax.

All the rest of youse need to do is sign over your state sovreignty to us, and we'll do the rest to make this a reality.

"Stroke of the pen, law of the land. Kinda cool!"

That is the best laugh I have had all day.

Just think of it. In one fell swoop, we could shut down NAFTA, modify the boarder and fortify it, drill in ANWAR, establish state religion, stop exporting drugs to Canada at lower prices, make English the official language, get rid of Hollyweird, have concealed carry laws and not have to listen to Liberal North-easterners or Left Coasters anymore

Oh yeah, the Canadians would then have 3 languages to deal with.

Love it.

Love these! Both of them! How about the Blessed State of Texas? or the Lord's Own State of Texas? (BTW, have you ever heard that great song "God Bless Texas"? Very cool -

"God blessed Texas with His own hand,
Brought them angels to the promised land.
Gave 'em a place where they could dance,
If you want to see Heaven honey here's your chance!
I've been sent to send the message:
GOD BLESS TEXAS!")

United State of Texas looks good to me, but there will be a need to rescue my family to get them here.

They don't really think that all those liberals in southern cities like Taos are going to relocate to the north shores of Baffin Bay, do they?

The Rats can do what they have always promised...and get the he!! out. They don't need to share in our hard won prosperity. BTW what would they use as weapons to protect their "new" country....oh I know.....white hankies just like their buddies the French!!

" but the word Texas comes from the Mexican word Tehas,"

Close.

The original name came from the Spaniards under Coronado's leadership.
As they traveled across what is now Texas, they encountered a band of Caddoan Indians in the Panhandle. These were of the Hasinai tribe, but the Spaniards called them "Tejas" from the Caddoan word, Teychas, meaning, "allies", or, "friends".
This word was spelled "Texas" often in old Spanish in which the "x" was substituted for the "j" sound.

Now, these Caddoan Indians were friendly to their own people and to those whom they couldn't conquer, but they were just as vicious to strangers as any other Indian tribe of that day. Their livelihood depended on their hunting grounds being protected.
We have a little misunderstanding about our state's name meaning friendly.
It only means friendly if we choose to be friendly.

Are you sure that they aren't on a pillgrimage out of this country?

I've seen several threads hear (of DU threads) and more posts on an apolitical network of "friends" all discussing which countries they are fleeing to.

I suspect that they would have run away if Bin Laden had started striking out at this country again too.

Good riddence to bad rubish.

BTW, Canada has already issued a press release NOT TO COME that there is a year long waiting list for immigrants. F. Canada. They harbor runaway soldiers.
