Britain's Scotsman reports that Hillary Clinton today was named favorite to win the next U.S. presidential vote in 2008 after George Bush won re-election to the White House.
The wife of former President Bill Clinton was installed at 5-to-1 odds by the betting agency Ladbrokes and 6-to-1 by William Hill to take over from Bush after his second term.
Bush was Ladbrokes' favorite for the whole of the election campaign. It's estimated that some 8 million pounds was spent wagering the U.S. election.
Ladbrokes has Hillary Clinton at 5-1 followed by former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani at 7-1 and Kerry running mate John Edwards at 8-1.
But maybe (yea, right) the dems will realize the destructive politics they have been practicing is a losing scenario and will elect someone with some scruples.
Bob Kerrey lost because he wasn't nasty enough for that era. Hopefully the MacAwful wing of the dem party will die.
We'll see. I don't see anyone tough enough to take on Hillary. Most of the ones that are out are too timid!

Ah but its different when Bubba's campaigning to sleep in the Lincoln bedroom again. LOL He will be out there raising money faster than he can inflate up his blowup doll.
Rudy is not for gay marriage, he is for civil unions - essentially the same position as GWB. and that's OK with me, some elements of civil unions do not equate to gay marriage. if two gays want estate rights, medical proxies, etc - its certainly not enough to elect Hillary over.
Hillary Clinton is the best motivational speaker the Republican's have. They should pay her to appear on TV.
No way the GOP lets him on a national ticket. He's got so many things going against him that we'd have a Democrat landslide if he did.

If it's Jeb vs. Hillary, the dynasty issue is moot. It's either Bush IV or Clinton III.
Well if its a choice between Guiliani and Frist (whom the Repubs are already pushing) I will choose Guiliani any day!
what states that Bush won, would vote for Hillary over Rudy? list them. what states that Kerry won, could Rudy win - NJ easily, probably NY, PA, etc. Unless you can make a case that Hillary beats Rudy in Texas or Missouri or Ohio - there is no Dem landslide in that race.
If Rudy has any intention of running for President in 2008, then what is he going to do in the meantime -- run his security consulting firm? Does that sound like a career path to the White House to you?
Frist has zero charisma.
watch for him to be appointed to a cabinet post.
OK, I was kidding about Rove. But lets get serious and follow the rules here. They are:
1. Senators need not apply. They just don't win.
2. People who have not won initial statewide offices and have been basically appointed VP need not apply.
3. Small state governors need not apply.
So lets look at the list:
1. Arnold, CA [Not currently eligible.
2. Jeb Bush, FL [I never heard similar complaints when the second and third Kennedy brother were running so he may well win it.]
3. Rudy, NYC [He violates the statewide election rule, but NYC is as big as a medium state so he might make it.]
So don't give me any Rices or Frists etc. Give me some serious contenders IF THE GOP WANTS TO WIN.
