I feel bad for folks in Fox News Channel. They know for real that Bush won IA and NM. Yet, they cannot do that without also declaring Bush the winner and have their banner moving across the screen "BUSH RE-ELECTED". At the same time, they don't want to look partisan by being the only network that declares Bush Re-election.
LOL I don't think Juan is capable of saying anything nice about Bush. He just doesn't have it in him. Hurting him would only make him cry.
I have to admit it: last night I didnt watch or listen to ANY MSM outlet(even Fox)! I just followed the action on FR! Thanks to you all for keeping me and my family really informed!
LOL! ROFLMAO!! Great comment!
Not poor Fox News...this isn't a game of kick-ball. They need to step up and do the right thing. Bush has won...Call it...
I guess it's because the fact that they aren't calling it makes people wonder if there isn't still some chicanery afoot.
Fox News has been a disgrace this election season.
No mention of Kerry's failure to release his service record.
No in depth look at his protesting days.
No serious mention of his Senate record.
No serious coverage of Iraq.
No coverage and how it relates to the United States of other terrorists acts in the world.
No serious coverage of the oil for food scandel.
The dropping of the CBS memo-gate story.
Absolutely no coverage and dropping the Sandy Berger story! (That is the most outragous media bias of all! A key political advisor to the Kerry campaign caught committing esponiage and acts of treason and everyone drops the story like it never happened!)
The Bush campaign plays a part in the closeness of this race also! I had the feeling the last several months that the foolishly kept waiting for the media to do its job. The last month is when they seemed to wake up and started pounding some of these points home.
I owe Sean Hannity a big apology for saying he was weak. He kept pounding these points over and over for months. Finally, listening to Bush and Cheney, it seemed they were using Sean's talking points. Thank you Mr. Hannity for your relentless pounding of these key points! You are a great American.
And thank you to all you wonderful Freepers out there who did the hard work of getting the vote out, getting the information out, breaking the memogate story, etc. All of you are great Americans!
I first hour was the absolute worst. It was doom and gloom about Bush and how Iraq had killed his campaign. They ALL ought to wise up and quit trying to use exit polls.
FOX stinks as badly as the others. I said back in the spring they'd gone over to the dark side and last night, along with the same numbers this morning, proves they've been totally sucked into the old media fold. I couldn't stomach them last night and switched over to the local ABC. After flipping over to FOX first thing this morning only to see the same numbers even after Ohio and Nevada are no longer in play, this household is watching the local channels.
Did anyone TiVo or tape the complete Fox coverage last night/this morning? I'd love to watch all the analysis of why Kerry won again.
LOL. That's so very... French. Imagine what it feels like to be George Soros right now?
???
I'm still shocked about how upset Dan Rather looked the whole night...he soooo wanted this thing to go on forever, almost a, "Bush can't win" look. Oh well...so long Dan!
Fox called it early this afternoon as soon as the Nevada results were in! It was Sheppard Smith. He said with Kerry's concession and the Nevada results in, Bush gets 274 of the Electoral vote thereby making it official, he is the winner.
You got that right! The media almost bought this election...and God saved us this time.
Brit Hume seemed rather apologetic this evening. He knows that Fox blew it - as did all of the other TV networks. They paid a company good money to get exit polls and they naturally relied on them in their early reporting. Once things seemed to differ from the exit polls, they were in a quandry.
It's like you hiring a financial advisor. You take his advice but then all of a sudden all of your investments start going sour. What do you do? For a while, you might hang in with the advisor for a while. After all, you've paid him. But soon you may get realistic and dump him, and your stock.
Dick Morris has expressed an opinion that the exit polls were fraudulant.
Michael Barone, on Fox with Brit tonight, said that he strongly suspected that the exit polls were slammed by someone in the DemocRAT party.
Here's how it works. Find out where the polling company is polling. Send voters there to "volunteer" to take the poll. Lots of voters don't want to be bothered. The polling company is happy to find a "volunteer".
How did the RATs know where the polls were going to be taken? The polling company was paid by a media consortium. Do you think for one minute that the RATs couldn't find a "media person" who would tell them?
I agree that Fox blew it. And I've expressed my opinion to Brit and others there. And I believe that they are aware of the problem and just might not fall for it a second time.
just for the record (and I didn't know this until today), Hume was the first one to call the election. Sorry if that'd already been mentioned but that's great! Kudos!
