I saked the same question a long time ago when Lockhart said it on CNN. Never got an answer.

83% reporting in LOUISIANA -- VITTER now at 52!!!! It just depends on where those precincts are. We could still be stuck in a runoff. Good news from Ascension Parish is that we had a huge turnout and Mr. Vitter took 56% of the vote. Republicans rarely do that well in Ascension.
