From abortion to whats on television now and the internet, it seems extremism is currency of the day

it is good vs. evil. we are polarized because we are choosing sides. the internet has brought so much information to us that we are no longer the "frog in the pot of water that is gradually being heated." some are choosing to stay in the water, while others of us have the smarts to hop out.

Do you feel things in the country are on the right track, or do you feel they are on the wrong track?

This is a bad question because its not anchored to anything tangible.

I personally believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, but certainly not because of anything George Bush has done or hasn't done.

My reasons are simple and in no certain order...moral decay, rampant liberalism, biased media, disgraceful pop (hollywierd) culture, "dumbed-down" school systems, loss of family values, abortion, liberal politicians that have no clue on how to lead a nation, "the victim's generation", minority rights prevailing over the greater good (minority is to describe ANY special group - gays, blacks, unwed-mothers...whatever).

This country has endured 40 years of liberal-anything-goes attitude and it has eaten away at the fabric of our country. We are building a valueless society with no moral clarity in sight.

George Bush, far from a perfect man, but has strong values and moral clarity. His leadership can help turn the tide of this horrible decay.

OK...so, its a crap question that should be pinned to a substantial point not just this right/wrong direction ambiguity.

Sorry for the rant!

I would like a little more "comfort room"-but even though I would like a bigger margin Mason Dixon is one of the few polling firms left that are reliable-so I won't knock the the results. However I will take a benedryl to help me sleep tonight. I do admit though I feel much better about this election that I did last week!!
Let hope turnout works in our favor.

I sure wish OR would be in the Bush column. But, most unlikely.

Look at OR in the Mason/Dixon poll results. Not good.

But, I would be ecstatic if Pres. Bush prevailed in Oregon.

I have always thought that the "right way/wrong way" thing was misleading.

If someone asked me if I thought the country was going in the "right" direction I would say no and I love Bush. It is the M. Moores, R. Kellys, some of the movies (like the new one where Nicole Kidman takes a bath with a 10 yr. old) and gay marriage, fetal stem cell research , partial-birth abortions, actually abortions period.

Those things are on the "wrong track" for me.

He needs EITHER Ohio(20) or Florida(27) to win, but needs one. Else he depends on a Hail Mary pass.

If Bush loses Florida(27), he can win if he holds all other Bush states and:

1. Steals Pennsylvania(21)
2. Takes Michigan (17) and any other Gore state(needs 2 to win).(Ties if he gets Maine's 2nd district)
3. Steals Jersey(15 - Unlikely, but possible) and any other contested Gore State
4. Takes Wisconsin(10) AND Minnesota(10)
5. Takes Iowa(7), Oregon(7), and either New Mexico(5), Wisconsin or Minnesota(both 10)
6. Takes New Mexico, Iowa or Oregon, and Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Washingston State(11) can also substitute for Wisconsin and Minnesota, but is harder to win.

If he God forbid loses both Ohio and Florida, he'll have to sweep Oregon, Iowa, New Mexico, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.(or take Washington state instead of WI or MN). Else, it's over. (I can't see him carrying Penn or Michigan without Ohio as well because of state similarities between the three.)

They have been doing that all year.

Remember, anything bad for our troops or America is good for them. Not a good position to be in.

You know these Right Track/Wrong Track polls are misleading.

I believe one of the "Fox All-Stars" on the Brit Hume program said the other day that when Bill Clinton was re-elected by 8 points in 1996, the right track number was something like 38%. So, you are correct -- it is a meaningless number!

I've heard and read that Bush's ground game is based on the mastermind who produced a superior turnout in the 2002 elections. Most polls didn't catch the Republican surge.

I like the Mason-Dixon outfit. They were the most accurate in '02.

I read that on here last week, but I have lost the article -- by chance, do you have it?

If these polls are accurate, Bush wins decisively (and so does America).

Man oh man, you make me happy and proud and I'm telling you I just want to see those libs crushed. Daschle is now bringing in the Third party Dem. Senatorial Cmmtt ads after tirelessly challenging Thune to keep 3rd party ads out like he was doing. He's so duplicitous but God- willing the voters are on to him. It's looking like we're going to turn him out. I laid into two postal workers today on the "hunch" they might be union members supporting Dems. (one actually said she was leaning that way). I had just had my Thune signs taken down as were a couple of neighbors. I am just a little keyed up right now.

Mason Dixon and Gallup are the gold standards.. These polls are VERY encouraging and might be the prelude to a HUGE blowout which this nation needs to heal wounds.
