I was just listening to Dom Giordano. A black man from West Philadelphia called in, said I'm swithching parties. Said the blacks in church are afraid to say anything because they're afraid of being called Uncle Tom's. He put a Bush/Cheney sign on his lawn and said he knows its going to get stolen, bricks may get thrown through his window but he doesn't care. He's voting for Bush for security and he doesn't like Kerry at all. Personally, I wonder how many other black voters in Philadelphia feel the same way but are scared to speak out. I was so proud listening to this man. Living here I know it's going to be hard for him where he lives, he has great courage.
Heres some more good news. My best friend lives and owns property down in Powelton Village. He told me the other day he was out at a liquor store over in West Philly (predominately black section of city). He overheard two black women talking openly out in the store. One said to the other..."Im voting for Bush...at least he will stand up and fight!"
Hey punditry...get a loada this....the black factor in this election.

A salute to this man.
Maybe this url can be sent to the talk show host so that the caller gets our feedback................
Just a suggestion.
Everyone is a "he" until proven otherwise :o)
You heard that in Powelton Village? I'm shocked. That is great news and a big breakthrough!!! I knew Clinton was coming here for a reason, now I know why.
Thank you billandhilaryclinton for dividing the races like no other politician.
I think there are a fair number of people of all colors and creeds who publically say they will vote for Kerry, but when they get into the booth will vote for Bush. Just a hunch, but there are social taboos in some circles that would prevent some people from saying they would vote for a Republican.
LOL..I don't know what to say to prove it that the mod won't pull!!
Not in Powelton Village ...that is, according to my friend...a big lib area. He heard it out in a black neighborhood...BLUE COLLAR black neighborhood. No limo libs there!
Hey, a homegrown newbie!
Welcome to FreeRepublic! (or did I catch you in last nights deluge?)
Philadelphia has 2 great talk radio stations... the truth is out there for those willing to listen
Here's the URL of the show.

The host is really hot on Rendell with the Military vote. He's busting him big time.
Well, see....there ya go.. Nice talkin to ya sir!
Hannity wants a piece of Rendell, too.. heh
All I can tell the voter in Philly, is...when you get in the privacy of your voting booth, you can vote however you want, and no one will know.
Not all of us get to look:):)
THERE YOU GO!!
For 10 years I lived not too far from Powelton Village. A lot of that time I was a Dim, but little by little (especially as I became self employed) I came over to the conservative side, voting Libertarian.
I finally had enough when Rendell, who let the city go to hell in a handbasket as mayor, let working people put up with homeless in the subway system for years. Then, when the Convention Center was nearing completion, poof, all the homeless were out of the tunnels!
'Ef you, Rendell. I had to put up with knife fights, germs, cursing, and crime for the privilege of going to work and paying taxes to you, and the tourists come in and get a clean, hosed down, subway system, homeless free?
On top of that, Rendell talked about how few minorities there were at the Republican convention (Clinton/Dole) and went thru the usual song and dance about the poor, miserable minorities. My people sure didn't struggle so they could be poor and miserable for generations! Shoot, I'm not working hard so I can be poor and miserable. I'm so tired of white liberals placing every minority at the bottom of the barrel. Some of us have actually learned to read and write and earn our keep, but you wouldn't know it by them.
After hearing that, I had had enough and went down to City Hall in Philly and changed my registration. I can honestly say that while my mind had been leaning right for awhile, it was Ed Rendell's big mouth that made this colored gal a registered Republican.
"I think there are a fair number of people of all colors and creeds who publically say they will vote for Kerry, but when they get into the booth will vote for Bush"
I think you are right, I have an artist friend that had a gallery opening recently. The crowd (a lot of his friends) was VERY liberal. While I didn't say I was voting for Kerry, I did keep my mouth shut on the topic. Just wasn't in the mood for an argument in which I would not be listened to and have to here how dumb Bush is because he pronounces nuclear differently than they do.
"it was Ed Rendell's big mouth that made this colored gal a registered Republican."
Great post...welcome aboard!
Some of the stories I have heard about Rendell...people have no idea how corrupt these people are..how they use the system to rape other people and reap huge financial rewards.
Some time...go look at some of the houses up on Green Street. There is a house...it was refurbished for about a mill some time ago...it is owned by Vince Fumo..big time democrat pol and power broker.
Many hard working blue collar blacks have no idea how the big dem bosses live like potentates!
